Hey guys I was talking to Eric about getting some help to put some coilovers and cambers kits on my car. Any help would be great. I think we are going to do it at Eric's work but I could be wrong. Just letting you guys know if any of you want to come over and help. I will buy lunch/dinner which ever one.

If you have any type of car experince you should have no problems. Its basically a bolt off and bolt on type of job. The rear springs could take a little effort to remove, but nothing too hard.

I know you guys will think this is a retarded, noob question, but I don't know a thing about lighting. can you guys explain the differences between the plug n play HID kits, and a full custom retrofit? What are the pluses and minuses of each? Are any of them OEM quality, and problem free? Sorry again for the silly question. Be gentle

plug n play is more or less just replacing the 9006 with a 9006 rebased D2S bulb. Benefit of this is that it's cheaper and doesn't require modding the housing at all. However, the is more light than stock, but on the negative of that, there is a LOT more glare. usually enough to blind on coming drivers. PnP kits are usually illegal but no one really seems to mind. Hard to find High quality kits. If going this route use D2R bulbs made for reflector housings (old Acura RL-S uses these)

Retrofits on the other hand are more expensive, but are pretty much OEM quality. Usually use TSX or S2k projectors that are fitted into the housing. Warning here, they are really costly, and time consuming trying to fit them in. but once you do, you are golden. Perfect Cut off and light distribution if you did them correctly. Using OEM ballasts and bulbs it's pretty much problem free.

checkout Home - CustomLightz - The HID Retrofit Specialist for pictures.

Hope that helpls, let me know if you have any questions.

LOL....

But that's just it man, buy what you can afford. However I will say the retrofit is worth every penny. I love the mod and will have it done to every one of my cars in the future. Eventhough my next car will be a ferrari and they are already equipped with hid's it will be mod money saved :P

I can't really afford either, but I want better lighting, and I'm starting to explore my options for later down the road. I'm kinda scared though. I've never done any lighting mods, and we've all seen the guy driving down the road with condensation inside the plastic. Plus now I'm reading threads about shorts, and blown bulbs, and melting shit. I want nothing to do with any of that. Whenever I get something for my car, I want it to be of good quality, and I want it to last the life of my car if possible.

retro with oem top quality stuff. You can still get a retro and cheap yourself. So make sure you get the right stuff.

Bjorn at customlightz.com is where you need to go. Forget trying to figure everything out, when your ready call him and he will explain everything to you.
