All state TX meet anyone??

I see that there are several threads out there for El Paso, San Antonio, DFW, ATX, and HTX. So how about we get ideas on where to host a meet for then ENTIRE STATE OF TEXAS This will be a thread where ideas could be thrown out in the open and WE all decide on common ground. The last all state meet i went to was the K series meet from clubrsx.com. There was lots of cars out there and had a good time. Once there is a set time, date and location there can be an official thread made .........

Carlos

PS. The Lousiana guys (k757 mostly) wants us to out do them, so lets show them that everything is bigger in TEXAS....lol....

Thats what this thread is for. So we can all come to an agreement, we just have to wait on the others to come input their ideas.

Take a look at the LA threads for ideas on what we did. We've had some great, fun meets and more to come. Of the big LA meets, they have all started at a Honda dealership and then hit the road (civic convoys) for some activities/attractions.

Louisiana (New Orleans/Baton Rouge) is not the biggest area to draw from, yet we seem to contend in meet sizes with much bigger areas of the country. How Big can Texas get?
:)

I think it would be badass to plan a convoy/weekend throw down in south padre galveston, or corpus or something.

3rd Official LA meet
Baton Rouge, LA - Saturday April 21

3rd Official Louisiana Meet

We have 23 8th gen civics attending already with more to come. Caravan over with Civic4u as he lives over in the Houston area and will be attending again and spending the weekend over here. I know some are planning on touristing the next day and/or hitting New Orleans.

1) Team Honda (10a-1p), lunch provided http://teamhonda.com/

2) Skills Competition (see details below)

3) Houmas House Plantation http://www.houmashouse.com/
Houmas House Plantation and Gardens is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
***** this is approx. a 30 min drive *****

4) Eat dinner (Sicily's Ultimate Italian Buffet)
***** this is approx. a 30 min drive back to Baton Rouge. *****

5) Bowling

---> SKILLS COMPETITION <---
How precise are you with your car? We know that some of aren't, those who claim that the poles jumped out and hit their bumpers at the Mobile meet

+ All attendees can compete in their cars, but only 8th Gen Civics can go for the bragging rights title. If you do not have an 8th Gen Civic, borrow one and win the championship. This keeps the cars equal so skill will rise to the top, else everyone will drive Geo Metros FTW. (hahaha)
+ this is a precision competition, no speed and no prize except for your pride & bragging rights

1) parallel park - you get a normal back in and one pull forward (between "cone cars") and the tires are measured to a line (curb)
2 back-to-back attempts
rubbing of the cones, is a DQ
average center-tire distance both tires is your score per round. Your best round is your score for the event.

2) straight back up - closest to a cone, measured from top of cone to bumper, a guide cone will be in view of the side mirror
2 back-to-back attempts
touch the cone, is a DQ
Your best round is your score for the event.

3) back up in a half circle without hitting guide cones - point deducted for each cone hit/rubbed.
2 back-to-back runs, combined score
perfect score = all cones placed and none rubbed

4) forward drive in a VERY tight "S" turn without hitting guide cones - point deducted for each cone hit/rubbed.
2 back-to-back runs, combined score
perfect score = all cones placed and none rubbed

5) Pull forward up to a cone without hitting it. No painted parking lines to help judge. measured from top of cone to bumper
2 back-to-back attempts
touch the cone, is a DQ
Your best round is your score for the event.

Scoring
+ Rank score will be decided by the reverse of finishing order for each event. Only the top 15 in each event will score points for that event. Best overall score wins the competition.
(1st place=15 pts, 2nd=14 pts, .... 15th place=1 pt)
+ Ties can occur in individual events.
+ After all events, if a tie for first, the score for the events in order of completion will be the tiebreakers.

With a Texas meet, you would have a Florida car there. I have a Florida tag. :)

For the LA meet, we'll have cars with plates from LA, TX, MS, AL and FL. Not bad

its not about being serious, its about working to pay the bills and some jobs arent as understanding about taking time off. it is extremely hard to get leave and my schedule is constantly changing, so i cant even plan out past a week or two.

I hear ya, I would definitely come to Houston for a meet.

Since you've experienced an LA meet, you can tell everyone how much fun it is with more of an event than meeting in a parking lot.

Not everyone can attend every meet, so people attend what they can. I will be missing the 4th LA meet and a bunch of people missed the 2nd LA meet. It happens, people are busy.

How we set up our meets, someone comes up with an idea (itinerary) and posts it and picks a date to have the meet on. Then people post if they can attend or not. We always have a couple of "maybe's" that either pan out or not. The thing is, after they see the photos and read about the fun times, they try extra hard to not miss the next one.

The next step for any of texas' metro areas is for someone to step up and say this is the "What, Where and When"
