Official 1st Central/North FL Meet Thread!

There seemed to be some interest. First, I'd like to get a roll call for anyone other than those I already have from the previous thread.
This thread is for Orland, Daytona, Jax, G'ville and surrounding area's. But of course everyone is welcome from anywhere.
For our first meet, I have a couple of suggestions in mind. Since it's not really clear to how many of us there are as of yet, I'll throw some locations in that are in different cities.

RaceRock - Restaurant in Orlando off I-Drive. They'll close part of their lot down for car show's. I've done it in the past w/ a different group. There's also tons of other places in Orlando to meet.

Gainesville Raceway - in G'ville, 1/4mile track and auto-x. 1/4 mile track open on Wed and Auto-x is a periodic schedule they update on their website www.gainesvilleraceway.com (road course)

Sonic - Most of 'em in any city don't mind a little group meet. There's one here in St. Augustine that the local group meet on Sunday nights, but we could pick a different time.

Somewhere in Daytona (since it's kinda the middle of the region for us) I'd have to call to make sure we'd be welcomed.

My House? St. Augustine - There's an outlet mall right by my house w/ go-karts too!

Anyway, for the roll call, this is who I have so far... If you aren't here, then post up your location 'n ride and I'll update ya.

As far as myself, availability to meet is mostly on Mon and Tues anytime. But I can try to switch to have any weekday (Mon-Thurs) off. Weekends are IMPOSSIBLE. On the 5 days a week I do work it's from 2:30-11ish. So it could be an early morning meet anytime (EWWWW) or one of those nights for me. I'm down with any location. If everyone doesn't care, then I'll pick the location and make arrangements.

If it ends up being at the Thanksgiving holiday timeframe, which is highly unlikely, I can make it as I'll be in Jax then.

I’m defiantly down for a meet but we need to make sure that people are going to show up, I’ve already tried to get a track meet going but were the only person that showed up.

If there is a meet in FL I’ll be there, I would love to meet with other SI owners to talk about the 8th Gen Civic. I’ve already spent over 3000 in aftermarket mods and still haven’t had the chance to show them off to other SI Owners.

I vote for race rock. I was there 2 months ago for a different car meet and it was great... they allowed us to rope off part of their parking lot and everything.

Okay, I've contacted Racerock to see what the process is and check availability. But for Racerock it is a 15+ deal I believe. I figure a show 'n shine is best for a first meet so we can all meet each other first and chat 'n stuff. If it was a track meet we'd hardly have time for any of that.
Does anyone else have any feedback for a date? Like I said, Mon-Thurs are the only times for me at the moment... But Mac there said Weekends only...
At least we know what kind of roll call we can get w/ some dates here. I'm also looking to set it up relatively soon. Anyone got any feedback here?

race rock is cool---maybe the 8th or 9th of this month---thats also a trak day at speed world, so I don't know if ppl will meet, but the sooner the better. Been waiting for a meet since I've move to orland(even though civicl-less for a few more months). let keep this post alive, and if we cant meet then at least make it the following week.

ps-- most gear-head and other enthusiasts meet on thursdays on I-drive, dont know if were trying to avoid the 'other tuners' or not.

I just kinda figured we'd meet each other first, then go from there. I'd love to see us meet once a month after this tho. :) Your talkin' about the meet at Sonic, right? I'm glad you posted BTW, cause you don't have a location listed, I woulda missed you completely.

I just got done emailing 28ppl from the Central/NorthC. area to come join the fun. (it took a while. lol)

The 8th or 9th might be a lil too soon. We have to spread the word first, then make arrangements. We could always have a mini-meet then, but the 1st regional meet should give like 2 weeks notice. (enough time to get off work! lol) So maybe the week of the 13-16. The following week being unlikely since it's thanksgiving time.

Let's spread the word! Post flyers on local civics windows!

Haha, but really. So that's what, 4 votes for Racerock so far?

If anyone cares I am bringing my Si to the solo II autocross this weekend in brooksville (tampa area). This is my farewell sendoff to these piece of $hit all season radials and I expect to do fantastically bad. Should be a good time though.

St. Augustine is cool...Tampa area is a little far, but if a few Si's show...I would really like to see everyone's ride & mods.

I'd be good for a meet at the Gainesville Raceway at the moment. I ran two weeks ago (my first time at a track) and there was another Si and I know there are several in Gainesville (at least like 10).

you know some times i wish i would of just gotten a cheap car and not have payments and stuff, but i dunno, i like my car.

Hi maiku and all,

Maiku, thanks for sending me the invite. I've been waiting for something like this in our area since getting my '06 HRP Si waaay back in Dec. Didn't see another Si for about 6 months, and very few others since. Finally, just over the last couple of weeks, I've been seeing a couple more Si's around here. Hopefully some are on this forum and will be at the meet. I know jensen from the tov forums, but didn't recognize any others unless they're using different ids. I live in Deltona and work in S. Orlando, right around the corner from I-Drive, Race Rock, etc. I pretty much have the freedom to get off work whenever necessary, so I'm in wherever and whenever everyone decides on. Looking forward to it!
