Ok I have to say not everyone wants to mod their cars to the max, and a Stock car that is taken care of can still look good, IMO.

I got the coolest 8thcivic at the dragon meet and with small mods to my SI at that point.
Now I have started on some CF parts, but the power end still only has CAI, SS, and drop on spring.

I like stock looking cars and tricked out cars but everyone has different taste.

Just something for you to think about.

Personally, I don't think members should be nominated again and again until they win. That's terribly silly now isn't it?

I think if I were to change something I would prevent people from being nominated again for 6 months or so.

Some of them are nice rides and could be ROTM winers. But I see your point,
I would say they could be in for 2 months in a row and then have to be out of it for 3 months.

Alot has to do with the pictures, for example solo8thgen red Si looks sick, because those pictures make it look sick, compare to other cars that look the similar but don't have pictures as good as his.

Am still trying to make it, after my turbo goes in and some other little things, coming soon, after all this is on my car, and i take some sicks pictures(with my regular camera lol), and i still don't get nominated, am just going to give up, because after that my car will be complete..

and thats a good idea, if the persons car has been dominated for ROTM and they don't win, there should be a waiting period of time before they can be nominated again.

Pictures are a main decider because we have no way of seeing these cars in person. Of course some have DSLR while others have PnS....

Regardless of the kind you can take just as good shots with a PnS as with a DSLR. Composition plays a huge rule.

But why does ROTM have to have all these mods to them?

I personally don't care what the car has in it, it's the exterior style. (wheels, tint, other mods) tasteful, should have interior.exterior shot. one of each. can be a DX,LX,EX,SI any CIVIC. Shouldn't be judged on popularity of the member, but the quality of the ride, and how it reflects the members personality.

Kelmar has won so many photography contests here on 8thcivic with his Point n Shoot. Many dSLR guys like me can't even get a decent shot half the time.

We'd love to have the contest ran like this. Unfortunately, to have it run that smoothly with absolutely no bias or issues is unavoidable. I hate to use examples, but it boggles my mind on why some people voted the guy who drove his Si across the country. There's nothing wrong with the story, but it just didn't align with what ROTM was about. You can argue night and day that car has traveled the nation, but it's still weak.
