Wheels MAKE your car. For example iLL FG2's car was so sick BECAUSE of his wheels. And if you didnt like his wheels - you didnt like his car. Those wheels cost him 2400. I dont see how you cant say that its not a worthy mod to make or break a car.
And yes, utter poop wheels < stock.

Especially for a color like ASM i dont think there are many aftermarket wheels that look good. its just the nature of the color.

the best wheels, IMO that Ive seen on ASM are as follows... EP3 CTR, RSX-S and Stock... yet, a ride w/ stock or rsx-s wheels isnt gonna get much attention as a ride that has Volks that look like crap

Sorry for wording that post a little awkward. I was actually thinking of putting my stock rims back on but felt they would look to awkward on my car with the other mods that i have. I think that the rims I have now go very good with the flow of the car even if they are crappy

Okay.. I have a great metaphor.. getting ROTM is like getting a girl..
You need to go to the club - You need to take pics of your car and post threads with nice shots of it :]
You need to wear nice clothes to get her attention - tasteful mods to get people to like your car. Granted it comes down to your personality to get a girl, it comes down to how well your car is put together to actually win ROTM. But please, no popularity contests.

I agree, wheels make or break a car.... but it seems like... for the most part... people automatically think ANY aftermarket wheel is better than stock. which is stupid... because most of the cars ii see on here w/ wheels look shitty.

there are obviously exceptions. but JUST because someone has $2500 volks doesnt mean it looks good and is ROTM worthy

You know what getz me? These mods talk about how these spoiled rich kids(you all know who you are) get their cars & upgrades & bills paid for by mommy & daddy!!
YEAHHH like they need the goodies that come with getting ride of the month. Leave it to the majority of us who pay rent/mortgage or have kids or god forbid HAVE TO EAT!! and we're not even considered at all. Take my car for instance:





Not too many agressive mods. I bought it off the showroom floor with these rims(19s btw):



I didn't like em. I think they look "ricey" to me.
I liked the HFPs and so I got them. I lowered the car 1.5", went jdm on the front & rear emblems, got my short shifter w/base bushings to boot, got the dead pedal from strut king, but i had to do some on one paycheck some on another. Got the x-intake(didn't have to wait 2-3 months like some poor saps here!(I did have to drive 60+ miles to have Emmanuel himself install it for me(did you guys know he owns a Quizno's)OHH, I also got my HIDs + foglights installed at Diamond Bar Honda(suck-a$$ service)
I painted my calipers, got my throttle-body spacer, and got my front & rear sway bars.
I'm doing it a little bit at a time but its hard when you got a house payment (no kids though) utilities and what not and so I want the powers that be to actually give merit to some of us who sacrifice for the lifestyle, sport of the SI..

I like your car, and think it looks better than stock sans the jdm emblems but do not think its ROTM worthy. There are people here that pay rent and whatnot just like you but find money to get really nice wheels. Take blue rocket for instance, he had TA TE's then Mugens.. real quality wheels.. I'm sorry if you cant afford better mods and it doesn't mean your car sucks, but I'm sorry when I say this but you don't have the BEST car in my opinion.

CoMpLeX is the ideal ROTM IMO. Tasteful mods (sans the hood imo), VERY nice pictures, and a great attitude. I think all ROTM's should be like him, even if you dont happen to have a supercharger or a 1k$ camera, you should be mimicking his actions.

Some of the winners did actually deserve it. Notice how it was much more of a competition when it first started way before there were any perks to winning and it was just for the respect. Now its like one nice car competing against 4 almost stock cars so some post whore can get some free stuff.

So I've read all the posts, and I think good points have been brought up. As far as policing the BS that does sometimes occur, the mods have done a great job, even with ROTM. Honestly, I don't think that the number of mods, or the type of mods, or the $$ spent matters, ROTM should be who looks nice.

As far as how to vote/ nominate. I think there is enough "campaining" in the Build Threads. If we all looked in there more often we could see some very NICE cars. The problem comes in with people all having similar variations of the same ride (myself included). Yes, most of them look very clean, and I have at each winners ride, but honestly nothing (even the JDM conversion) is "different" anymore. What is considered "different" has been frowned upon by the majority (example Si_Turbo).

I say the Sponsors of the site get a say. It is common knowledge that some rides have ties to sponsors, and that may not seem fair, but just listen... I say the sponsors submit monthly/ quarterly lists of rides tied to their site. Then, they also each get 2 nominations a month (one can be tied to the company, but one must not be on the list, so as to eliviate sponsored rides ALWAYS being nominated). After that, the mods and admin decide the best 5, and the voting for those goes public. This way, the masses can still have our say, and with admin and the mods being continually involved, the nominated rides will remain fair.

Anyone agree.....?
