How about to qualify you need atleast one aftermarket cosmetic mod (not HFP) and one aftermarket performance mod

I honestly think anyone is game to actually have a chance to run for ROTM. Out of the ones so far I think we've had maybe what 2 or 3 at most that were F/I cars. I think everyone else so far who has won just has had a ride that stands out from most of the other cars on the site. I wont go thru each one to name but you get the idea.

they arent saying that those are 'rules'... but they most certainly are 'unwritten rules'.

sure, i'd love to be even nominated for ROTM... but do I deserve it? Hell no. My car is nothing special.

Although I'm with galaxy on this one.... i do love the stock wheels.

Qualify? Thats pretty tacky IMO.. intake + wheels should not qualify you. Someone can pick up some rotas and an intake.. DEF not ROTM to anyone, sorry. I think that cars like member SMOOT and myself should be nominated.. but idk.. whats the BEST way of having cars seen and considered?

You car is clean... and I know old members would know that as well.. but let's be honest jesh... you know its because you don't have an si.. I KNOW, that shouldn't matter as it doesn't matter to me, but most people are going to automatically think.. its not an SI.. blah blah blah..

we've had two NON-Si's win so far... so i think you'll have your time eventually.

Define cosmetic - do LED dome lights qualify? Or what about a license plate swap? Or does it have to be a J's Racing Time Attack CF wing?

Same thing goes with performance - are we talking about CAI? Turbo/supercharger? Aftermarket MTF? Or what about a T1R Voltage Stabilizer?

What about canards - they increase downforce in the front (better cornering) and they are cosmetic too. Same thing goes with suspension... lowered look vs lowered center of gravity, etc...

See... there's just too much to consider if you want to quantify mods. In addition, as manufacturers release more products, we will have to categorize everything and that's just too much work.

i agree with jrmartinez24 someone could have 10 mods but they are well thought out and can look and be alot better then someone with like 30 mods. It all on the final product. look at jdmkid(i think thats his sn) He doesnt have to many mods but they're all clean well thoughout tasteful mods and he won......just my 2cents

you take 2 people with the same exact car on the outside except for wheels... and the guy that has wheels has some crappy ones he bought from pep boys... why should he get nominated over the other person w/ stock wheels?

, but its the fact of not being nominated, and saying a stock FD1 with tacky mods being nominated.. whatnot. I hope it doesn't sound like me bitching cause I haven't won yet

.. because all of the past ROTM's (sans one) I've really liked. And yes some people dont like the HFP kit and go for the 'm style lip', some like other things.. just like I'd love to throw some LM's on my car and some people hate them.. its all subjective.

It doesn't have to be a quantity but i think we can be mature enough to see how all the mods as whole compliment each other in comparison to other rides.

You are also subjective to colors as well which is uncontrollable, some colors will heed more votes than others automatically.

ur car has been seen, if people don't vote 4 U they don't! I would vote 4 U just 4 ur CF overlays

yup... people dont seem to have much love for ASM. I got ASM because, besides Habi... its the color LEAST seen by me (in Si's).

Its all about how the wheels look on the car. I have crappy wheels on my car but I think they look good and go with the flow of the car. If you saw them in person I guarantee you wouldn't know that I only paid $100/rim for them

I understand where you are coming from but i don't think we've came across that situation yet. But you are right... wheels should't make a difference but sadly it does.
