Thumbs up My take on the seeing the engine thru the hood

hahaha my take on what CHILD did to his car in the pics section. lemme know what you think or what i need to improve on

nice job, i had done it and had it set up properly and then my computer crashed and i lost the pictures before i could post them

I decided to try it again, here you go



I did 3 layers bottom is the hood up, middle has the feathered hole at 60 pixels and the top is the un cut one at 40% opacity, I have the psd if anyone wants to take a look but its about 65 mb

i only use TWO shots.....one open and one closed. I take the open pic and magnetic lasso the area i want, feather it, and the paste it on top of the closed picture and drop the opacity.

you could vector mask hide all.. then brush it in.. might be easier than lasso

Thats kinda what i did. I took two shots of one open and closed. I lasso the whole engine . copied it under the hood. lassoed the hood and pasted it under the hood again. I erased what ever i didnt want on the top hood witha softness of 5%, set the opacity of the second hood to like 30 sumtin (played around with it), and them u start seeing the engine under it.

You know, they actually make hoods like this where you can see through it. I forget what type of material they use. They had it available for the 7th gen coupes.

the material you speak of is lexan i beleive...i dont personally like it at all
