Nikon D60 vs Nikon D80

Being perfectly honest I don't know much about cameras at all. My mom wants to get my dad a good one for his birthday and asked me to look into it. I've basically decided on Nikon over Canon. I also figured we would get the D60 over the D40.

However, should we really spend the money to get the D80 over the D60? Is there much of a difference between the 2?

He currently has a 35mm with all sorts of lenses (not made by nikon or canon so he'll be starting fresh).

Recommendations and/or Thoughts?

Doesn't matter if the lenses aren't Nikon or Canon, it depends on if they're Nikon or Canon mount. If they are Nikon mount lenses then go with the D80.

not a whole lot different. if you want to save money then go for the d60. i have a d80 and am really happy with it. it comes down to the lens and photographer anyway.
