You should use a polarizing lens filter next time, reduces some of the washout from the sun.

They are very bland to me they don't have any pop they need some satuarion and some contrast. Also as someone else said a cp or a graduated nd would help.

Damn I wish we had something like that around here... I would have a field day!

Try getting into the habit of getting good shots right from the camera. Try not to depend on Photoshop to produce good pics... just use it as a tool to enhance.
