P&S Choices

I am looking for a new camera since my Kodak C315 can't hold battery life for more than 3 seconds (actually timed it). I also hated the quality at only 5MP.

I wanted a dSLR but I don't want to drop 400+ dollars for a camera I will only use occasionally. I am looking for a Point and Shoot camera that can take pictures that have a professional appearance.

I was looking at the Kodak EASYSHARE Z1285 12MP mainly b/c it is a 12MP camera. Has anyone had any experiences with this camera. I was also looking at the Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP and Canon PowerShot A570IS 7.1MP

I have found reviews on the Canon but haven't seen any on the Kodak. Comments on all three are welcome and would be great. Other suggestions would be good to...

Thanks

It's not the Megapixels, it's the image sensor.

Megapixels only really have to do with cropping and/or printing.

I recommend S3 IS.

Canon fan here, and I recommend the SD line due to the fact that you charge the camera and dont have to replace batteries every time you go to use the thing.

thx for the replies

the S3 is a little pricey. I am looking for a camera around 200 dollars- hopefully less that can give me good picture quality. I get a 15% discount from Kodak bc my old camera broke, so a Kodak brand could be more expensive

for the SD anyone in particular?

so far i'm considering:

1) Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP
2) Kodak EASYSHARE Z1285 12MP (iffy b/c I haven't been able to find any samples)
2) Kodak Easyshare Z885 8MP
