I went on an adventure today - 56k nowai

So today a buddy of mine and I were hanging out and had absolutely nothing to do, so we decided to go and see what kind of pictures that we could snap around town. It didn't take long for me to remember that there was an abandoned and run down hotel that I've been eyeing for a good amount of time now.

Before anyone judges the quality of pictures, I know.. I don't have dslr and my ancient camera takes horrible pictures in low light without a tripod and hefty shutter speed/iso/fstop adjustment. I wasn't planning on some of these being so dark so I didn't even think to bring my tripod. I did bring my hobo-stab insurance though, which I (thankfully) didn't have to use.

Anyways, here are a few pics of this creepy hotel. I wish that it hadn't started getting dark by the time I found the front office area. I would love to go back with a flashlight and get around there and snap some pics simply because it was so creepy walking through parts of it. I tried to get some pics but, alas, failure.

This is the first thing that we were greeted with. A smarter person would've turned back, but I'm a texan and I thought I might find something fried back there..

the detex thing is used on ships and shit to do show that who ever is on watch is doing what there suppose to be doing. I know all about that from the STCW training i had to go through at my school.

Ha! Thanks for the info on the Detex thing. I thought that it was a little odd that an ashtray would say something like that on it.

I wonder why there wasn't a timeclock thing around it though.

There wasn't a place where anything had been ripped off, and the closest thing to it was a fire alarm.

Anyways, thanks for the comments.

I seriously want to go back there but I don't know if it would be a good idea. There were biohazard suits (the disposable ones) scattered throughout the entire place, as well as a big dumptser that was lined with warnings and plastic and it was full of asbestos in clear trash bags.

I'm going to go through the pics and resize a couple more so I can post them..
