how do i get this effect

ive seen a few people on here doing this, COMplex mainly.







how do i get he crazy reflections and contrast? is is just post processing or is there some photo technique too?

HDR images.

Take multiple shots at different exposures, combine them, voila, hdr. (that's the simplified verision)

ive never really understood how it works, if anyone would explain i would love it...ill go read up on google too

he did that on purpose, he raised the back of his hood. its an old JDM thing...also cools down the engine.

Take multiple photos preferably with a tripod (try bracketing your shots if your camera lets you). Shoot 3 to 5 shots starting with a properly exposed shot and also slightly overexposed and underexposed shots (once again, if your camera will allow you to bracket your shots it's much easier).

Photomatix (sp?) is one of the best from what I've heard. CS2 and up will also allow you to do it.

Photomatix, adjust tone mapping, it will look like junk - save it anyway then bring it to photoshop and adjust levels/curves and colour balance.

the 1st pic is definitely some HDR with a desat'd background.
2nd one doesnt look like HDR to me though. Looks
COMplex's shot looks normal to me. Just a really sharp lens and great lighting.
