First Northern Harrier Hawk with my Tamron 200-500
I'm starting to get used to this behemoth. These are my first good handheld pics with my Tamron 200-500 of a Northern Harrier Hawk. Windy day and hawk was more than 30 yards away. Levels adjustment to take out some of the haze from the environment and the blueness of the Tamron. An unsharp mask was used as well. And some cropage to fit Photobucket's requirements.

I agree about the monopod/tripod, but like I said earlier. No time to set one up. It was literly one of those stop the car, jump out, click a few pictures, go down to another pull off, and do it again. I was looking for a lens that I didn't have to use a TC on. I was debating the Sigma 50-500 lens, and the Nikon 300 f4 and a TC, and a fellow Cafe' member led me to the Tamron. I'm liking it so far except that I had to get a bigger tripod to hold it as well. Wich is ok because my older one was getting over taxed.

argh! this always happens, I post a reply to something and I thought I was on the other forum. I guess I didn't mention the fact that it was at a field behind my plant. They are always very nervious, and they don't like you getting close. The amount of time to put up a tripod or even a monopod, they would have moved on. I'm thinking about buying a bean bag type thingie that I found online. It drapes over your car door or hood and provides suport. |
