Local AutoTrendz GTO/Import Car Show Pics!

Alright well I haven't posted here in the photography forum on 8th civic before because I have been so busy at work. The few opportunities I have gotten to take pics over this summer I haven't even had the time to edit them. So finally I have started to sort through all the pics and started editing them and should have a lot of stuff posted up asap.

Here are just some pics I took today at a local car show which was put on by a local shop. The show was mainly for GTO's but there was a little bit of everything there.

Theses Pics were taken with my Nikon D80 using my Sigma 18-50mm and a polarizing filter.

I then adjusted the saturation, contrast, and levels in a few pics. Aide from that the pics were resized and a border was added.

Any more input on the pics? I realize they are shot in a parking lot there for the background is a little dull/busy in some of the pics. But aside from that any suggestions or comments would be appreciated!

Sorry i'm not quite sure what your reffering to.

Do you mean the one pic I took at an angle?

I didn't finish editing all of the pics from the day so I may have a couple more but I tend not to take too many pics at angles like that so I doubt I have any other good ones.

Nothing wrong with the car shots, but as you said, the background leaves much to be desired. It's also probably hard to wait until there's no one near the rides...

...as far as Post Production and/or on-site, I would have lowered the aperature a bit more, to get the background a tad more blurry if possible, to keep focus solely on the cars.

Good shots though, I saved some of them for posterity in my computer. If your buddy can hook up the raws and/or originals, that'll be spiffy. ;D

Yeah i tried to do my best considering the lighting in the middle of the day and the location of the show (a crowded parking lot).

As far as the aperture goes that was about as low is I could go.

I was the one who took the pics so just let me know and I could always try and hook you up with the RAW files.

^^^Thanks man, I wasn't really happy with any of the pics of my own car compared to those of the vettes but that was just one of the better ones.

I'm actually quite impressed with the shot of the straight-aheads. It's very even, something that most people don't take the time to try and do. It's very good pratice (I assume tripod) because when they're tilted slightly from a straight angle it tends to confuse people, even when it was a good composition....

...If you can hook up the RAWs, I would be super happy. I won't publish it, but I kinda want to mess around with the grey vette and make it my wallpaper.

Great pictures. btw: truflip wasn't being nice. He was implying that you really shouldn't take pictures at those angles. Not sure why he couldn't just offer a suggestion.

Yeah as I have progressed that is one thing I have come to learn and get better at and thats taking my time to compose everyone of my shots. All of the shots I have posted were taken free hand I just didn't feel the need for a tripod considering the time of day and lighting.

And just PM an e-mail address and I can try and send you those RAW files that you wanted asap.

Thanks man. And yeah I don't know him and didn't really know if he was being sarcastic or not but I assumed after he replied that he wasn't being sarcastic, oh well I could care less whether or not he was or wasn't. To me the whole point of posting pics on a photography forum or subforum is to hopefully get some helpful feedback not some stupid sarcastic comment like that.
Figures out of the 20+ pictures I post he is gonna make some stupid comment on the one pic I took at an angle
