Playing with shutter speeds?

I was wondering if anyone had any pics that they took while they were just playing with shutter speeds.

If so, please post them up.. I've been experimenting with shutter speeds the past couple of nights and would like to see other examples.

Here's 2 of the many shots that I took tonight just playing around with a dark room, camera, and a flashlight.

I would rather see raw examples rather than photoshopped.. but if you have a kick ace chopped pic that originally was taken while using a slow shutter speed then It's okay.. I guess

lol

[edit] BTW, no purple wall jokes.. I moved back in with the madre to go back to school, and this was what I found.

That is bad ass... I dont have anywhere around me that is busy with bridges right beside them, so I never get to take any pics like this.

Well I just messed around with the shutter speed and had some fun. Used my light off of my cell phone, I spelled my name in the 2nd picture.

Those are awesome..

Ebay Master - Every single time I've tried to write out things it's all turned out crappy.. How the hell did you do such a good job with it?

itsmeryanb - I love that picture. I have a few from off of a bridge, but I don't have a location as nice as that. I can't believe how well that turned out.

I'mthevoiceofGod - I beat myself up for forgetting my camera on the way to pop fireworks.. I had been thinking about it all week and then I just forgot. To make up for it, I just didn't pop some of my fireworks.
One of these days I'll get to really play around with taking some of those pics.

It really wasnt that hard for me to do it, just took me about 10 tries to get all 5 letters in a 6 second shutter speed.

I slowed mine down to 15 seconds and it's not getting it all to fit, it's making it legible. It looks like a drunken 5 year old is trying to write on an etch a sketch.

Oh man, those are straight awesome..

If I can find it I have a faint bolt of lightning that I got about a month ago, but it's not even close to being as impressive as that first shot.

Dude, I shot the lightening with this...

All cameras are nice, just the point and shot ones have a smaller apeture for the lens so less light comes in, , it's the skill of the person using the camera mostly, and not the camera itself. I've seen some pretty crappy pictures taken with $10,000.00 camera bodies and $13k lenses.

Thank goodness for Digital, you can shoot 450 images and pick out the 5 or 6 that turn out [erfectly.

:)

Good stuff!!! :)

+ for a Tripod!

Way to blow my cover there.

Yeah, I've been trying to learn more and more about taking better pics, I just don't have the time to play around with it. Not only that, but I think taking pics outside with natural lighting is the best way to learn and it's been raining almost non-stop here in N. Texas so that idea's out the window. I'm lucky I still have a camera at all.. a part of our ceiling caved in because of all of this rain and the digi camera, video camera, portable dvd players, etc. were all under the waterfall that dropped from the ceiling.
Luckily I was sitting in the room when it happened and I got to snatch all of them up before they got anything more than damp (they were all in their cases).

Aaaanyways, bump for some more pics. :)
