Dragon Scouting Run April 6-8, 2007 (Now With Pics and Videos: 56K Warning!!!)

Nomar06, ThatCamryGuy (my nephew), etf and his wife, and myself will definitely be there. We have the Chilhowee cabin at Tapoco Lodge which was all that was left there. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. You may have to stay somewhere else though.

I'd be there if I hadn't eaten up all my vacation time (and money) last month in Utah. You guys have a good time and bring back lots of pics and ideas for the real meet.

Hey everyone. Nomar06, ThatCamryGuy, and I are at Tapoco Lodge. There is GTI/R32 meet here this weekend so Nomar06 and I are surrounded by the enemy.

We had four good runs on the Dragon today. I think the road impresses me more everytime I drive it.

We had lunch at the Dragon Den's Grill. I talked to Ben and he said there would be no problem feeding all of us for Friday's lunch.

We ate at Lynn's Place Restaurant tonight and I wasn't impressed so I'm removing it from the intinerary. We will probably let everyone find their own dinner on Friday night.

etf and his wife will join us tomorrow night. We'll post some pics and videos when we get back.

We had another couple runs on the Dragon today. I rode with my nephew in his Trans Am while running the video camera with Nomar06 in front of us. We went to the dam to scout out spots for the video and photo shoots.

I talked to Dirk at Tapoco Lodge today about Saturday evening's dinner and using the county funds. He said hiring Killboy for photos would be a legitimate use of the funds so we are going to check into that. etf is not arriving until tomorrow and he is a friend of Killboys so I'll see if we can talk with him about it. Door prizes is another possibility.

I'll be back tomorrow night with another update. We have yet to take any pictures but etf's wife likes taking them so I'm sure we'll get plenty tomorrow.

We had another great day at the Dragon. This morning we took the Cherohala Skyway to Tellico Plains. It was 15 degrees at the highest elevations there and snow was on the ground and in the trees. It was very beautiful. We got some pictures at one of the overlooks there.

I talked to Carlos at The Bistro by the River about our Saturday dinner. Be on the lookout for information regarding meals.

We came back to the area via the Dragon and then went back over to the dam for some pictures.

We had a great time and now I have a clearer idea about what's going to happen at the meet. Look for pics and videos to be added to this thread from our scouting run. Also, I'm going to give the itinerary it's own sticky when I return.
