I saw that today. Certainly, the Dragon is the best road in the area and perhaps the country but there are other great roads in the area. The Hellbender (NC-28) is pretty awesome itself with a 55 mph speed limit to boot.

I wish the THP would come up with a more balanced approach instead of harassing everyone. I wish they would raise the speed limit 10-15 mph and then strictly enforce it. Honestly, you can still have fun taking the curves at 30 mph but even that might be impossible with 12 troopers hanging out there.

I'm unsure about how many tourist dollars the Dragon brings in for TN but I know they have less to lose than the businesses on the North Carolina side of the border.

Regardless, the meet is still on and we'll still have fun.

Come on guys and girls, stop dropping out of the meet.

So you can't run the dragon hard, it is still a ball to take all the curves at the posted limit (or just below for safety). Most of the time you cannot get a full run anyway without coming up on slower traffic. The good times come from the people you meet, the stories that are told, the parties that happen and trust me they will.

This will be a time to remember that you don't want to miss.
If the cops scare you that much just play on the NC side but come to the meet.

If you let the cops scare you off, you just got

If there stopping people to ensure all there gear is DOT approved, is there any chance the people with RH are going to be harrassed if they find out they dont have CAT's on there exhaust? Can they write you a ticket for that even though your car is registared in another state??

If I had the time and money, I'd be there for sure. This year has been tough on my funds (read: saving for a wedding).

But, I'm going to do everything in my power to be there next year. No promises until I actually put rubber to road, but the lovely soon-to-be Mrs. Cameron has no issues with me going, except she really wants flowers...and cake...and a dress...and furniture...and blah blah blah.

Have fun out there!

nah as long as you don't set up residence in the state where the ticket is issued they have to apply the laws of the state where the car is registered

I thought removing your cat was a federal offense. If that is the case then it wouldn't matter where the car is registered.

its not in alabama. i dont have any cats on my 83 chevy with dual exaust. all there is is a noise ordinance. i could run it with just headers an no mufflers and as long as it wasnt breaking the noise ordinance its legal
