I think I'm going to scrap the idea for the overhead group shot from the bucket truck. I think the money for that can be better utilized elsewhere. We are only getting a limited amount of funds from the Graham County Travel & Tourism Authority and I don't want the photoshoot to suck up the whole amount. Killboy will already be getting at least half of it for his end of the deal.

We will probably be eligible for more funds next year since the meet so maybe we can do the big overhead shot then.

Besides having to pay to use the bucket truck, we will have to move everyone from Killboy's photoshoot at the dam over to Fontana Village because the feds aren't going to let us park in the grass and bring the truck over to the dam. Killboy told me that previously, the shot was done at the ballfield at Fontana Village.

I hope to get back to the Dragon sometime between the meet and the end of the year. I will stay at Fontana to inquire about having the event there next year. It will be less of a logistical problem if we could do it that way.

Here are coordinates for Tapoco, if you like Google Earth, mapping, etc.

NC-1130 @35.443980, -83.938660

Scroll a little north and see the dam.

It's about 3 hours or 222 miles away from your current location.

5. Turn left to merge onto I-85 S
Entering South Carolina 71.9 mi
1 hour 10 mins
6. Take exit 70 to merge onto I-26 W toward Asheville/Columbia
Entering North Carolina 57.8 mi
54 mins
7. Take exit 32B to merge onto I-40 W/US-74 W toward Canton/Knoxville 18.4 mi
18 mins
8. Take exit 27 for US-19/US-23/US-74 toward Clyde/Waynesville/Maggie Valley/Franklin/Murphy/Atlanta 0.8 mi
1 min
9. Merge onto US-74 W 0.6 mi
10. Take the ramp to E Jones Cove 0.2 mi
11. Merge onto Great Smoky Mountains Expy/US-19 S/US-23 S/US-74 W
Continue to follow US-74 W

That gets you to Robbinsville. South of the Dragon.

No prob man, sorry I wasn't quicker to get you the info but I don't totally trust google and other "online" maps. Didn't want to send you to "Deliveranceville USA". Sounds like you had a hell of a day to want to drive another couple of hours, so I definitely feel you on that.
