We could just use the mpg of the first tank. I'm sure most (not all) people will use up about a tank or so getting there.

It'll take me a tank and...a third? Give or take. It depends on how the KY caravan decides to drive and how the TN foothills treat us.

My road trip to Florida (through TN) back in July yeilded 39 mpg on one tank and, if I remember correctly, 37 mpg average. I figure that's not too bad for the speeds I was traveling and the Si wheels I put on the car.

That sounds about dead-on with what I got on my only 100% highway tank, which was 38mpg.

I got about 36-37mpgs from Charlotte to Miami. I was going about 80-90 mph for most of the trip.

I just sent an email to the Graham Co. Travel and Tourism Authority:
Quote:
I represent 8thCivic.com, an online community dedicated to the 8th generation Honda Civic (2006+ models). I organized an 8thCivic.com Tail of the Dragon meet last September and our group stayed at Tapoco Lodge. I made an announcement regarding the 2007 meet on January 2. Our meet will last from Thursday, September 6 through Sunday, September 9. We already have over 50 members interested and the meet is still nine months away. This number is not including any guests that the members may bring. We will again be based at Tapoco Lodge. I would like for the lodge to cater a dinner for us on the evening of Saturday, September 8. I am writing to request some funds from you to supplement the cost of the dinner. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Cookstar, you're the man. I need to watch my rep finger, because it's too tempting to keep repping you for all the work you're doing. Thanks a ton for putting this together.

Cojaro, I feel you! I've got some pretty bad food (and other) allergies myself. Luckily, it's not to the point I need an EpiPen, but Benadryl and Claritin sure don't hurt.

Cookstar, I called the lodge yesterday to see if they have hi-speed internet and found out they do- kinda.

Next to the office is a little room with two computers anybody can use, and also there's two ethernet cables where you can plug in your laptop.

There are no other connections, wi-fi hotspots, etc. anywhere else in the lodge, so it's nice to at least have "some" internet capability; especially since there is NO cell phone reception at the lodge.

I can't eat wheat, rye, barley, or oats. It ruins my intestine wall. In a sense, my intestine doesn't digest the wheat, the wheat digests me. :P

Sometimes I'm amazed with myself that I have and can deal with parties and such. I'm surprised I haven't succumbed to the wonderous odor of pizza and hamburgers.

Everyone has something or has family that has something, so it's all good.

This is not meant to be gross, but you could put such things in your mouth, to taste them, then spit them out. Or is that too dangerous?

It'd be cross-contamination. If I were to do that, then any safe food I eat will pick of the wheat or whatever that's still in my mouth (small amounts) and bring it down to my stomach/intestine.

I least I can still have TCBY ice cream.

I realize this is way off topic, but since it's the "chat" thread, I'll continue.

Those are very interesting allergies. I can't eat rye or rice. But, I can eat wheat and oats. The human body is a weird machine.

What I have could be considered an allergy, but what I have is actualyl a disease (I usually say it's an allergy because it's easier to explain to people)

Ever heard of Celiac disease/Celaic Sprue? (it's the weaker version of Crohn's disease)

Gotcha! I actually met a girl not too long ago that has the same thing. We had a nice long conversation, because people usually don't believe my long list of allergies. When I met her, I didn't feel so bad about my food problems.

Knowing most alcohol is grain-based, it seems I'm designated driver for life. A little payment for dropping of the drunk ones, and the next morning they'll be wondering where that $20 went.

Thanks, Bud. I knew about the two computers but I didn't realize that they had the two ethernet cables for laptops. I posted a couple updates from last year's meet on those computers.

Exactly why I asked for a chat thread this year, so people wouldn't have to wade through posts of off-topic material to find out what they needed to know. Carry on

I just received an email back from Judy at Graham Co. T&T.

Hi Chris,

I'll take this to our next board meeting, which is February 5 and will let you know something after the meeting.
