What a crock of crap !! Why dont they have 2nd gear TSB too ?? I dont even have much of an issue with my 3rd gear just sometimes doesnt feel likes its in gear in 3rd. But my second gear is a GRINDER !! This is the same shit with the other TSB for the front popping strut noise .. and they wouldnt fix that for me either till this day because they couldnt replicate it !!

Ill make sure to replicate this one .. ill take one of those Honda techs out for a nice cruise and show what happens when I shift at 8000 rpm into second .. crrrrrrrrrrrrrrr make em shit there panties !! :)

You know .. you think Honda would be smarter then this. People have relied on these cars for so long and swear by the Honda product. Now .. Honda is turning a cheek to this issue that everyone is having. Even people that dont have this car .. say they didnt buy one because of it .. even they know about it. HONDA BETTER SMARTEN UP .. words getting out ...3 yrs and running now without a true fix or recall.
I got owned by that part in the TSB too. They gave me my car back with that portion of the TSB highlighted.

The TSB quotes the labor at 8.2 hours. Usually the manufacturer is not generous with time and i'm guaranteeing this is going to be something the technician will struggle with if he's never done it before. IN SHORT, NO technician or dealer will want to do this work. It's A LOT of work with only guaranteed pay at 8.2 hours. Most likely it's going to take longer to do.

Basically, I'm getting delay tactics from Honda as a brand. I just faxed over 3 service invoices dating back from October of last year documenting this issue prior to TSB release. My Honda Customer Care rep will get back to me. I just hate how nobody is taking ownership of this issue.

well it's good to know at least i'm not the only one that grind 2nd. i only get it when i redline it, u have to literally clutch in, wait, shift, wait, clutch out. what's the point of redline then? i'm not the only here that gets this right?

they'll be on this summer... eventually... i'm not modifying anything until the TSB gets done. don't want to give honda or the dealer any excuses for not doing the TSB due to mods. wheels are on though, but i'm swapping back to stock when i drop my car off to honda. dont want them to scratch those either heh.

Im not even going to bother with the TSB .. makes no sense to me .. even if they change the 3rd gear there just puting the same back in. There is no fix for this..they need a whole new transmission for this issue .. when im sitting at a light in nuetral and try to put it into 1st it wont go sometimes ... I have to pump the clutch a couple times go into 2nd then into first. Same with reverse .. I gotta go trhough gears first befrore I go into reverse. All of my gears are notchy .. but 2nd gear at high rpm wont go. 3rd gear feels like its rubber sometimes .. it just kinda bounces back at me. I wont get this done till they come out with a true fix .. dont want to give my car to Honda for 2 days to have the same problem in a couple months again.

Dealer called! i'm up on deck... I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I'm surprised the parts came so fast considering there are people in the states who have been waiting for a month!

I bought our 06 Si a couple days ago. Before the sale was complete, I test drove and seen the 3rd gear 'popping out' a couple of times. Like it didn't engage all the way, rubbery feeling.

Anyways, I go in thursday to see what happens next. I already showed them the TSB so they understand what I'm expecting.

I'll let you know how it goes, and what dealership it was. So far, just based on the sale of the vehicle, I'm very pleased with everything. But as wel all know, sales and service are two different departments lol.

Sterling Honda in Hamilton on Upper James.

I'm waiting for the call, they're trying to reproduce the problem on a test drive.

I should know shortly.
