just got off the phone with Brendan from Classic Honda. He's gotten e-mails from other customers about the TSB. i'm going in on Friday morning for them to check out my car, for the 3rd time. Hopefully it gets fixed this time around.

i will try and call Family in Brampton and Castle in Rexdale tomorrow.

I went into Mississauga Honda today and picked up a 2008 Si shift boot which had been on order for ages. I decided to print out the 3rd Gear Set TSB and tore a strip off their customer service manager right in the middle of the showroom. Looking back, I feel bad for the mini-scene I caused but I had to let her know how shitty their in-house "Si Expert" Sean Mccrae was.

I told her about this message board and how their lack of customer service is now reaching a global audience with the Internet. Also told her of the boycott and how every Si owner and future Si owner is now being steered away from their dealership. The look on her face was priceless!

Just curious ... living in Brampton .. I unfortunately bought my Si in GeorgeTown .. only place with a Taffy white one :) .. anyway .. Classic Honda is good ? or should I keep away from them ? I dont have much of a 3rd gear problem .. but I grind second constantly. There is a Mr Lube off Hurontario in Brampton that I think ill be going to in the next couple weeks to get some Sincromesh put in. I have no real problem driving around but as soon as I give her .. 2nd gear grinds .. gotta granny shift to get her in !!

Ive only had 3rd gear problems in the morning, and its not too bad. By the way .. keep away from the fruits at Georgetown Honda too. Ill never bring my car there for anything.

To bring credibility to this thread, please explain why to avoid Georgetown Honda. An certain experience or occurrence would help.

Originally when I was looking for my Si I came accross a website dedicated to Georgetown Honda, with alot of unhappy customers. I just went looking for the website and cant find it.

Anyway I wasnt going to buy my car there but I wanted White and only two places had one Barrie and Georgetown, so got it at Georgetown .. I asked the sales rep about the website and he said ... oh ya its a couple of losers that were unhappy only one of them bought a car from us all the other people were fakes.. blah blah .. anyway. The price tag on my car was $26,999. They had a deal where you buy the car you get an I-pod .. they were also giving away a broil king bbq. I asked the guy if he can take a bit off the price .. no .. he said .. all day people come in wanting a white si .. ya ya . he also had a silver one on the lot outside. This guy called me after I left and told him I would think about it and said some one is coming in tomorow to buy the car..I said okay drove there and signed .. now .. after that he then began explaining .. ohhh tint is on the car .. that will be extra .. I said nope sticker on the car says 26,999 thats what im paying .. anyway .. we argues about that until finally he said okay we will do you favor .. then when I came to pick up the car .. he said I dont get an I-pod ,, because they gave me free tint .. then he said I cant even put in for the bbq because its an Si .. he said if it was an ex no problem .. anyway the guy obviously is a sales man .. okay he makes commission .. but come on ..

So .. the manager gave me a card said when winter comes .. call me and ill hook you up with cheap winter tires .. called them .. and cheap winter tires were gonna cost me over $1000.00 .. that aint cheap .

Went in for my first oil change .. young guy got in my car and floored it into the garage, I was pissed ...

By the way I also tried to trade my wifes car in at the time .. 2003 Hyundai Accent GTS .. only 80,000 km .. they offered me 500$ .. All I know is they really couldnt care less about there customers .. I bought my wife a 2005 Civic se . at another dealership like a week after .. even though I told the guy at the dealership I was going to buy another car ... anyway maybe its just Honda in general .. they beleive so much in there product that they dont care .. hey if you aint gonna buy it the next guy will .. all I know is the Silver SI was still there a year after I got the White one... So .. those are my issues with Georgetown .. OH ya I called them about an issue with a knocking noise in the front end .. I printed this off a website from Honda showing the issue with some front strut thing .. anyway they said to bring it in .. tried to show them the issue and couldnt replicate it .. figures right . they said they would replace the parts its under warranty .. thats good .. But they would first have to hear the noise .. even though I had the papers from Honda to prove it. Never was fixed ... ..sorry for the long story !!

ok anyone with the "issue" please hold on... don at ready is working on a plan to get things rolling. we will know whats what tuesday or thursday...

the problem is that the bullitin is issued for the usa and not "yet" recognized in canada. the reason is that canadians have less cars and repot a smaller failure rate. the logistics are being hammered out but once they are, Ready has a green light for the 3rd gear fix hastle free.

right now honda canada cant and Wont recognize the usa bullitin. any dealers at the moment that post repairs done under it will not be reinbersed for the work done. and will more then likely have to swollow it internaly.

please hold off from going to the dealer for a week untill the green light is given.

we dont want them to try and do it then just to get F#$@ED and not get paid... honda is the bad guy not the dealer. the poor dealers are stuck in the middle.

UNFRIENDLY DEALERS:
1) Mississauga Honda (Glen Erin & Dundas)
- FastTimesAtFGHigh: Sean McCrae (Assistant Service Manager) claims there is NO NEW Honda MTF, "can't replicate issue"
- Kelly J: Sean McCrae (Assistant Service Manager) claims there is no problem, "can't replicate issue"

FRIENDLY DEALERS:
1) Classic Honda (Brampton)
- Xenin: Replaced with new MTF
2) Ready Honda (Dundas/Hensall)
- portabuddy: Replaced synchros but f@#$ up his tranny more. Sorry Bart!
3) Image Honda (Hamilton)
- DumbasSi: Dealer is willing to replace with new MTF or 3rd party brand. No hassles about "voiding warranty".

Here's the skinny DIRECTLY from one of the Customer Care reps at Honda Canada (Philip).

There will be a TSB for Canada coming within the next week. I was instructed to call Philip back by Wednesday April 30, 2008 for further details.

So yeah, we're getting it as well. Just got to wait cause Honda is a turtle.

I called Honda Canada aswell today, talked to some lady named Rene she never said anything about a TSB and was kind of snoby about it. She said she was going to call birchwood honda west in winnipeg and talk to them for me. She told me to call them tomorrow and bring my car in and leave it over night so they can drive it when its cold in the morning to try and replicate the issue.

Spoke with Philip at Honda Canada this morning.

TSB number won't be released for Honda Canada until the parts are orderable from the dealers. ETA for parts on order is expected to be 1 month.

Kinda silly if you ask me considering these parts are orderable south of the border. And if you release a TSB, shouldn't you have these parts stockpiled for the onslaught of Si owners?
