Stock Bumpers..?

2008 Si Sedan (ASM)

As most Honda service departments are closed atm on this Sunday afternoon, I was wondering.. how much does it cost for a stock bumper (CAD)?

.. got into a fender bender and am currently looking at my options.. whole front left area is screwed up (this includes wheel-well, one headlight, front bumper, fender, and area hood is bent a bit)..

Currently looking at getting $$ for the retrofit I've always wanted but yeah.. what kind of options do I have for the bumper? CTR would be nice, but JDM conversion is too costly! I don't want to have to add too much money..

lol the JDM conversion is probably cheaper than getting a new bumper from dealership lol.

There are a few options. OEM, and a couple different third party manufacturers. PM sent.

if you're looking for stock bumpers, just go to a junkyard such as carcone's. it beats the hell out of buying a brand new, unpainted bumper directly from honda.

I dunno man, it depends on what you want. The CTR conversion will cost a lot of dough, but you don't have to buy a retro since the headlights will come as HID's. That being said, an OEM front bumper I am told should run you close to 700-900 CAD all said and done, where a conversion is like 2000.00 bucks USD.

More advice is appreciated!

As of now, I am looking at two options, but first let's recap on what's damaged.

Left Headlight (glass/plastic is cracked and shattered etc)
Front Bumper (left area); cracked in two places
Fender; damaged - not even sure if it's cracked.. too sad to look at it

So assuming I was to replace each of these with stock parts (fender/bumper/headlight), I'm guessing it'll cost about $1500..

So now my options:

Option '09:
Replace damaged fender w/ stock Civic fender
Replace cracked '08 bumper w/ new '09 bumper
Replace cracked headlamp w/ new headlamp
Replace '08 grill w/ '09 grill
Add Mugen front lip
(I have no idea how much this would cost after painting etc)

Option 'JDM' Conversion:
Replace fenders w/ CSX fender (having to buy two fenders costs more than one :'()
Replace bumper w/ CSX bumper
Replace headlamps (another, non-damaged part is being replaced.. )
Grill etc...
(How much does this cost after being painted etc?)
Also, not sure if my current Civic hood would be compatible with such a mod.

Local pricing; Canadian $$$

How's it useless without pics? You don't need pics. Let us say my bumper+headlight+fender have shattered like glass..

You may want to send Pete (HongKongKobe) a private message, as he went through a 09 front-end conversion before.

The 09 conversion ran me about 1k just for parts even with special pricing. I did not need to pay for the paint. All that said and done just painting a bumper and lip prob costs arund 400-600.
so in the end approx $400-600
either way if you go back 08 it will cost around the same pricing for parts as well

going ctr, would cost more due to us needing to actually purchasing more parts. the bumper, grill, lip, headlights, fenders will all need to be changed. again this can be cheaped out if you opt and go for the replica ones avail.

so in the end it really comes down to what you want most. either way is going to be costly, so the choice is really what you want to do.
who knows maybe you can be original and try to pull off a coupe front on the sedan (no im just kidding about that haha)

Awesome.. so I just went to an auto collision centre that I was referred to by a friend, and their quote for replacing:

Bumper (and shock absorber; which appears to be perfectly intact)
Fender
Headlamp
and I'm guessing all the little items that are needed to mount each of the listed items..

came to about $3000.. ridiculous.

Bumper was $490~
Fender $250-300 (dont remember)
Headlamp $394

CSX parts listed
Bumper $450
Fender $190-250~
Headlamp ... $700!!!

How hard is it to do labour on your own? (hahaha) Also, if I were to buy a CTR Front Bumper, do you suppose it comes w/ everything needed to mount it (such as clips/screws/bolts and what not?)

Are those prices you got quoted there with paint?

Fender I just got mine replaced, there are two aftermarket ones that are around $130

There is an aftermarket bumper

And the headlamp is way over priced, you can find some here cheaper.

Little items are probably the paint materials and extra labour.

Fender is bolt on, bumper is bolt on. Headlamp is bolt on. just get it painted and pick up the parts. save yourself the shop fees.

what are they charging for their shop fees per hour?

try this...

http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

$180 for a left headlight assembly...

a lot more parts right now too.. wow...

Indeed I was considering just picking up those three MAIN pieces but I'm unsure of how to bolt them on (bumper seems easy, lots of DIYs on here, headlight as well but a fender? hmm..)

And aside from that, there's a small metal piece that seems to attach the fender to the bumper; that piece appears to be bent! Also, the plastic underbody attached to the bumper is cracked (if I haven't already mentioned that)

Buy the parts used/new and bring it to a shop for them to install/paint it. You dont want to mess around with it unless you know what your doing. Besides its winter

PS: I can refer you to a shop who is cheap and good work in the area

How's your car? ehehehe..

The thing about buying parts is.. I have no idea what comes with a bumper when you buy a bumper. Bolts? Screws?..

Look at all those mini-things that I need!! Looks very complicated if I were to buy all those clips and what not.

But definitely, at this point in time, I am considering buying the parts that I want put on my car and bringing it to a body shop. Sucks that there are so many little parts that I need too though! (wheel well under fender, plastic underbody@bumper area etc..

replied to your pm eric. for as tose random tiny clips and bumper plugs dont worry about it. most likely a lot of your old ones can still be replaced, + shops has them as well that they can use. otherwise ordering parts for cars will be a pita everytime after an accident. or the shop wil handle in getting those tiny parts for you.

If I got an 09 bumper; which parts for the grille will I be needing?

Do I need parts 1, 2, and 3? or is part 3 the same for the 08 as well.. so just 1 & 2 ?

...also, is there any place I can get this fine piece of scrap for cheap?
