If world class import/sport compact drag racing is what you're after then be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, May 10. That's when the Battle of the Imports will launch their inaugural New England Dragway event. Battle of the Imports started it all in 1990 by launching the first organized sport compact drag racing series in the US. Since then they've become recognized the world over as the pioneer of the "import lifestyle and culture."

Battle of the Imports features competitive classes for all levels of racers. From the weekend warrior to the mid-level sportsman to the all out professional, chances are there is a class for you. And if you don't want to run in a competitive category Battle of the Imports also features a fun-run program where you can just see how fast your machine really is.

They also offer a competitive carshow series with 100 awards available to imports, sport compacts, late model domestics, trucks and SUV's. Competitors can compete for huge 6-foot trophies, bragging rights and a chance to be featured in national magazines like Super Street, Import Tuner, Modified, and others.

Want something more? Be sure to check out the midway area for live music and demonstrations. The New England Dragway event will also feature a special gaming area.

The Battle of the Imports is credited for successfully leading the way in creating the movement for, what is now, over a $3 billion industry and helping focus the eyes of every original equipment manufacturer, parts and accessories manufacturer and media outlet on to Generation X, Y and beyond.

DIRECTIONS

From I-95: Take Exit 2 in New Hampshire. Follow Route 101 West to Exit 8. Turn right at the end of the ramp and you're here!
From I-93: Take Exit 7 in New Hampshire. Follow Route 101 East to Exit 8. Turn left and we're straight ahead!
From I-495: Take Exit 51-B to Route 125 North. Get on Route 101 East to Exit 8. Turn left, and - voila !

looks like this is a 2 day event.

Anyways, Who is coming? I would like to meet as much 8thcivic members as possible. I will be there early just to save parking spot for you guys/gals.

may 10th starts at 12PM what time are you gonna head out and are u coming with anybody?

You should rack up as much heads as possible in your area and meet up at a spot before heading out and ill do the same to mine.

PS. If anyone wants to install a zex nitrous system and some extras before the 10th for me let me know and I will pay you. I have to say though I am very cautious and only want someone who really knows what they are doing. I have a TPS/WINDOW switch and a lean shut off switch to install.

Well I am bringing a gorgous babe with me haha. My buddy is gunna show in his evo and another friend in his Volvo S70 running 16-20 pounds of boost

Other than that I will probably not bring too many locals just 8thgen members. I wanna get there as early as she will allow haha. I can't imagine myself getting there later than 11:00 AM haha. Hell if I could convince her I might show up at 10:00 am and just get us a nice civic area if possible.

Its a horrible shame that my Datsun was not on the road in time. I would love to have someone drive it up so I can enter it in the show, but I have been slacking and spending all my time (AND MONEY!!!) on my civic.

It will be there this year though. That car could run a 25 and I would still be so proud to own it haha :)

Anyway I broke up with the girl thing so I have no problem going to the track EVERY weekend haha.

Google says its about 4hrs from my apartment. I'd wager it takes about 3.5... maybe less.

Only cost is $2 for parking... and its requested that you bring some kind of item to contribute tot he BBQ. Im bringing chips and dip... you can never have enough chips, etc.
