3rd gear woes

Ahh.. its soo nice working for Honda. I printed up the 3rd gear TSB today, opened my own Repair order and ordered all the parts to replace the 3rd gear set no questions asked. Should be getting it all replaced tomorrow or the next day. Plus we have a spare tranny that was turbosi's and I think Im taking the 1/2 syncro out of that. Should be interesting. What MTF are you guys using. I dont want to use Honda MTF

Most people use Amsoil or GM Syncromesh. I'll probably be putting that in when my car is repaired. I might have my technician do it for me. He told me to "slip the bottle in the trunk" and he'd fill it for me, because evidently Honda thinks their MTF is better.

What a joke, haha.

I just dropped of my car off at honda for the 3rd gear TSB , they have to test the car first to make sure it as the problem. I was like " hello the tsb says 07 ALL civic si coupes " . He says we got to look at it first. So tomorrow when he said no nothing is wrong with it i'm gonna slap upside the head and shove the TSB right in his face.

Ya Honda called me today at like noon and said yep 3rd gear problem and half the parts are on back order and could be any where from 1 to 3 weeks. Then i went to get my car and they didn't put any miles at all , none. The seat was right where i had left it and the car was in the same spot. Oh well. least they said they will fix it.

All parts are in... took just about a week. Dropped it off this evening. Should be done by Friday. I'm #1 on the list of about 10 cars to get this done at the dealership...

stopped in this morning to check on progress... they're replacing the 2nd gear syncros too! 3rd gear didnt look bad, but the 2nd gear teeth were all jagged. New sycros on order, should be done by Wednesday. The tech was cursing the Greddy kit the whole time... made the job "twice as difficult".
