Long Island 8thcivicfest pre-meet 5/18
so....there has been much discussion of the 8thcivic upstate meet.
who from LI is going? who is intrested in going out to breakfast before we start heading up? and if your intrested, post up what town you live in. no sense for those in nassau to come out to suffolk for breakfast. but if theres alot of people in nassau and everyone agrees, we could find a place in nassau. i feel we need to start getting this together kinda early. from the few random memntions of it at the wensday meets and the amount of people that want to go, it could be a problem trying to get a table on a sunday morning for 10+ people. dinners and resturants are alaways packed with the sunday morning church crews. lol. and the fact that i dont think ive ever seen a diner sit a table for more than 6 people, i dont know how theyd accomdate us. there is always the option of a brunch. it will probably cost a little more than a diner, but we can make a reservation and know that we are going to get seated rather than hope for a table anywhere else. opinions? copy/paste and add your name to the list... 1. ian + elizabeth (huntington) 2. Danielle (Massapequa) 3. rob (north babylon) 4. Kenny (bayshore) 5. Vinny + Nikki (maybe) (lindenhurst) 6. Tyler 7. J + Ally (Huntington) 8. Stan and Katelind (Wantagh) 9. Andrea + Matt (East Islip) 10. Jon (lindenhurst) 11. brian (bay shore) 12. Mike (Bellmore) 13. Jessica 14. Dan + Sara (Massapequa) 15. Ernie 16. Chris (Freeport) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: On Parade diner is where we will be meeting address: 7980 Jericho Tpke, Woodbury, NY phone: (516) 364-1870 EDIT: just for referance, the diner is about 1/2 mile east of where 135 meets jericho trpk. its on teh south side of jericho. meeting time: 9:00 am sharp. we will be going inside at 9 (if your not there, you wont have a seat) to be sure we have enough time to eat (about 1 hour), and 2 hours of travel time to get to the meet. hopefully we should be at the meet by 12:00. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i just got off the phone with the diner. they said 9 is a good time because its not to busy yet, so it works out perfect. the list shows that there are 21 people going to the diner in the morning, so i made a tentative reservation for 20 people, and told them there might be a few more people or a few less. i am to call about 2 days before and confirm exactly how many people are coming. chances are we will not all get sat at 1 large table, but we will all get sat at the same time so that we finish at the same time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ time is getting close. whoever is on this list that isnt at the meet on wensday will get a PM from me to confirm they are coming. by friday i definatly need to know how many people are going to breakfast. also, since alot of people in the 8thcivicfest thread are slacking with bringing food. everyone try and bring somthing. i know alot of us already are signed up on the list to bring some food, but if not, try and stop at the food store between sunday and now and at least get somthing. salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, utensils, plates, soda.....im sure the $5 that you may spend will mean alot to jordan. i'll keep a look out. some of my fav. spots have gone under during this time of recession. there are two in my old town of Syosset. it borders huntington on jericho turnpike just west of woodbury road.. One is called On Parade Diner, and the other one which is like 2 miles down jericho turnpike is Celebrity Diner... These two diners are in an area with a high concentration of Jews so i cant see the church goers as a problem. They are also each one minute from the Seaford Oysterbay expressway (135) which will make it easy to just hop onto the LIE to head west.
Lloyd Banks is a frequent to On Parade lol so you KNOW its good Last edited by tcel127; 04-07-2008 at 12:07 PM. |
