Auto cross events in CT - Page 2

June 8th just happens to be my 20th birthday, but that'd be a pretty sweet event to attend, I may even want to compete as long as my car meets the inspection.

i believe you have to have a helmet to compete though.... dave hasn't done the track yet because he doesn't have a helmet. Happy Early Birthday just incase I forget... I have a bad memory..lol

can you guys break this down for me ( new at this auto cross thing) so if i wanted to participate in one of these evens all i have to do is show up with the require attire ? or do i have to be a member of a club?

don't have to be a member. don't really need anything besides a helment. the snell approved. m or sa is fine.

not trying to take away from the thread at all but i can do nothing but wonder why this thread remains a sticky after only having 25 post after 6 or so months

me either but w/e.. i still want to go autocrossing, still need to get a stupid helmet.. once i do ill be attending one of these events, I also wanna try running a few 1/4 mile times to see how i do.

Will be heading up on the 27th. Hope helmets are easy to borrow, I haven't gotten around to buying one yet

From what David said you can not borrow helments from people. Unless you know them and what not. Plus its going to rain here anyhow.

I've looking all over online for the last month but I haven't found any good advice on a good choice for a helmet, so I didn't buy one.

Uh oh . . . Where is a good place where I can get one fast? If I order online it won't be here for Sunday.

if you go to ur local speed shop and they use key stone as a supplier of there performance auto parts they can get things next day. Needs to be sa2005 certified or m2005

Looks like I'm going to buy a cheap SA2005 rated Racequip full face helmet.

And is it really going to rain sunday? Will it be that bad that they'll cancel the event?
