How about the Jefferson Valley Mall in Mahopac, NY? The Palasades was hard for me to get to, although i wasn't able to make it anyways.

we're gonna BBQ this time, we decided on a park with a bbq pit or grill built in so we can just use some coal....hey at least u can drink illegally now :)

*I see we are considering Liberty State Park. Really nice choice, but I'm not sure we are going to find an open area to park. Also, last time I was there they still have all the streets lined with cobblestone which is 100 times worse than those rumble strips at the mall. I'll do some recon and see if theres any good spots in the park.

*I would also like to bring up the Ross Dock in Fort Lee. This is a nice spot right on the Hudson underneath the GWB. Plenty of open picnic space and brand new restrooom facilities. The downside is that they charge 5$ a car during the summer but the last time I went there we had the whole place to ourselves. There is also a few other picnic areas along the Henry Hudson Drive...

what about Bear Moutain? Plenty of nice roads to carve up on the way there too

ye thats what i was suggesting also...its very nice place with very big parking lots but i think most of the parking lots are all rocks =/

Ive been to a few meets up there. From what i remember, i didnt have to pay to get in, there was room for about 1500 or so of my friends to bring their own cars, theres bbq pits to cook in, and we were drinking beers (not sure if it was legal....)
