NEW Long Island Meet Thread!!!
I just figured I would start a new Long Island Meet thread since the other one was too cluttered and people were having trouble finding directions to the meet spot.
For all who do not know where the spot is: Quote:
All are welcome. The meet takes place on Wednesdays. People start showing up @ 8:30pm.

when I saw the invitation i was hoping it's going to be a new location closer to me
. Guys you have any suggestion for a good dealership close to you? Here in the city apparently don't take appointments so I'll have to wake up 6.30 in the morning tomorrow to stay in line for an oil change and the safety recall. |

apointments for dealer service arent exactly appointments. its just a scheduled time to drop your car off....it doesnt mean they are actually going to do it right then. most dealers are like this. i usually make an "apointment" to drop off my car before i go to work, and demand a loaner car becuase "they cant tell me how long i will be without my car". it usually works. but anyway, i get my car serviced at huntington honda.

i have had good and bad experiences at huntington honda.
for example, every time i call to make an appointment, the person asks why, puts it in teh computer, i ask for a loaner car, get approval and set a drop off time. but when i get there, they have me in computer but dont know what im there for and tell me im not eligable for the loaner car. also, if you have a intermittant problem, expect alot of miles on your car (20+) and the "couldnt replicate the problem" excuse. but everytime they actually do somthing, it gets done correctly. |

I called them...I'll be there 9 o'clock tomorrow...rather than waking up at 6.30. Plus I have to get the engine warmed up really good anyway.
Maryland would work way better though. By the time I was getting there they would have all my info...the requested oil...basically everything ready for me. |

good luck. but the serivce opens at 7:00 and even though they take appt. they also take "walk-in" customers also. so it may take 1 hour for teh work to be done, but they may not start it until 1 hour after you get there.
imnot saying this is definatly going to happen, but i always have the worste expectations when going to teh dealer so that IF they do somthing right, im impressed. |
