lol. what a day in teh long island thread.
the directions for my window switch were wrong and told me the wrong way to wire in the relay, but now its all fixed. i have it setup for a 50 shot..... i took it for a quick test. starting in first up to 4.5k (widow switch is set) its normal, after that i loose traction all through the rest of 1st, 2nd and most of third.

a couple questions though (hopefully brian might know this) i get a strong smell of unburned fuel in the car for a few minutes after i spray. (after i got home and checked the spray nozzle it seemed that i didnt tighten teh fittings down all teh way, hopefully that was it, but ill ask just in case....is this normal?
ill ask the rest at the meet since they are hard to describe.

im going to go switch the jets to a 35 shot since 50 is useless if i want traction....

a smell of unburned fuel usually means one of two things: 1:wrong size fuel jets are being used or..2:you are leaking fuel. was there any sign of evaporated fuel anywhere under your hood? if not, i can make a couple of phone calls for you to find out what size jets you should be running.

i was definstly leaking fuel out of the fogger where the braided line attaches. the intake tube was wet...the braided lines were barely hand tight.

as for the jets, they were definatly the right size and matched correctly, but have since been replaced to smaller ones anyway.
i think the fule leak and the fact i had my vents were on/open alowed the smell to come into the car which made it seem much worse.
thanks for the quick response

my car was definately there for alot longer than 3 weeks buddy. i think it was in the shop for 3 weeks after they got done ordering parts and trying to get money from insurance. it was getting a whole new dash and navi. long story....ask greg and he can tell you everything.

not a problem. that was probably it then. you have to show me how the window switch is wired up because i heard of some people having trouble with it. i want to see what the big deal is.

it is actually the throwout bearing. i have been hearing a little noise for a while now and i just figured out the other day that it goes away when i press the clutch. im gonna try and let it go till the car goes in the shop in a couple months as long as i can still drive it.

there is most likely some damage to the syncros but the whole thing is getting rebuilt anyway.

good to know you fixed your fuel issue Ian.

speaking of tranny issues, i had my oil changed today and while i was there i asked if a tech could take my car for a ride. i'm growing more n more fed up with the 3rd gear problem. well, when he gets back, sure enough, he had a hard time getting it into 3rd. they want me to bring it back for further investigation...

will do. my brother and a few friends works there. i did some research. it's in the computers as a problem and there's 4 orders of inspection. first being the 3rd synchro ring. don't think it's anything major but i had my buddy print it out for me. scanning it now.
