If you didnt want to pinpoint a specific problem and address it in a large thread, then maybe it really isnt that big of a deal at all...

To me, it seems like it is a big enough deal, but rather than making the effort to just remedy it properly, the easy way was taken by just closing our pride and joy and trying to start a 'new' one to ease the pain... but i dont think its going to work the way you expected.

One thing to learn about the internet, and id be suprised if you guys dont know this already... is that when you do something like this.... there will be a revolt. Ive seen it on another website (where I am a mod and I did the same thing)... and it was ugly.... and that site has about 5% of the amount of users that 8thcivic does.

there have been warnings about it in the past, and they were either listened to for a page or two and then ignored, or disregarded alltogether

Why was the thread even allowed to last a week if the title is BS and Whore thread its just funny that 100k pages later it came to an end.

have u looked at the stats on that thread lately... it literally goes over 300+ posts per day... there's no way in hell that a few mods on here can keep up with all that and moderate the rest of the problems on this site...

trust me we talked about it causing a problem and we didn't want to do that either... we know how close the NE i've talked to a few NE members b4 over the phone etc... we're even planning a meet for next year...

like i said we know there was gonna be some problems with people say this is BS this, BS that... but everyone needed to know how the mods saw this issue... and like Crack mentioned earlier ppl weren't listening to what we were saying... we only got rid of the thread b/c of what it turned into... not to break up a group... and believe me this BS/Chat thread wasn't the only one this was done to...

Im not saying that Im innocent, because im most certainly not.... but Im certain there are some people in that thread who are. Why should they have to suffer?

it was actually BS and CHAT thread not whore thread... the whoring is a privilege reserved only for VIP members not for regular members...

as a regular member u are allowed to come on here and browse the regular threads, get info, etc... but other than that u have no other posting privileges... it's that simple...

VIP members pay for their subscription and with that they get the opportunity to talk about w/e they want... IN VIP...

I dont see how this results in anyone suffering, we simply created new threads that clearly stated the rules and repercussions of all chat threads. We arent stopping you from doing anything that would have gotten you in trouble before hand, we simply made the rules more clear.

... so you punish people who are specifically breaking the rules and make examples of them and see if the rest whip into shape. Guess that wasnt an option though. :rolls eyes:

the old thread was the largest thread on here.....alot of us did abuse the rules and simply did blow off any warnings.......This is a public forum and lots of people use it daily moderators don't have the time or the man power to babysit all the threads.....We are all adults here we need to step back and look at the bigger picture what's done is done....leave the whoring to the whoring threads and the BS'ing in here....
Stop fighting with the mods thay are doing what they are told to do....it's thier job...now I am going to bed on that note....

I'm sorry but if a member has over 6k or 7k posts and they aren't VIP... tell me how did they get that w/o whoring... and the majority of the threads on this site are clean from whoring... so where else did they get those posts from??
