How does the new SI handle in the snow?

I am considering purchasing the new SI sedan and am mostly worried about how the car will handle in the Cleveland winters. For this reason I was looking at pickin up an AWD wrx, but want the SI more. Ive searched the internet for how it handles in the snow but havent come across much. I realize that tires play a decent part of this, but even with decent winter tires, how does the car drive in the snow?

Especially the fact that the new Si's have VSA (Vehicle stability assist) feature, you should be just fine driving in the snow!

throw some snows on that bear & you'll be beating half the trucks on the road (speaking from experience)

in fresh snow, by that I mean unplowed or very little traffic, it sucks with anything more than about 6 inches...this is with the stock all-seasons. I don't mind driving in snow, but if there's more than about 4 or 5 inches on the ground I just call-in and stay home. I'd say that if you have a significant winter youd want to consider a set of winter wheels and tires.

That reminds me when I was up at Bear Mountain here in Cali for the weekend during a freak snow storm. I had a RAV4, and the tires were balding a bit, and the chains I got were the fancy shit that didn't work. The cabin was also in an area not easily plowed, so I was literally on a little Rally trail everytime me and the buddies wanted to go snowboarding.

I agree with the rest of them. 4WD definitely helps, but by no means is the Si undrivable if you have the right tires.

Drive slower and get 4 Nokian WR2s....they last forever and are considered "all-weather" and not all-season or snow tires and don't wear out quickly like snow tires...I've had my set for 4 seasons now...if you're lazy you can drive with them all year round...not recommended if you want to have handling...I've used mine on my Focus SVT and now on the Si...
