Need help from you long island ppl

So my almost GF moved into school last week (Hofstra) and I'm supposed to visit in the near future. I'm in Enfield CT which is on 91.

So, I wanna know, what's the best way to go down there? Should I head down 95 and eventually hook up with 495 or should I be taking a ferry, and which one? And realistically with normal traffic how long of a ride am I looking at because map quest is never ever close.

I-495 -> Cross island parkway -> southern state parkway -> sunrise pkway and you're there.
Don't remember exactly what exits but im heading out that way in 5 mins lol
