** Updated again ** I included the update below, as well as on the first post.

So, I took my car to the stealership today and told them this:

"I took my car to a shop to have them install some new springs that I bought. But they didnt get very far. As soon as they took the first strut off, they stopped because the top was not held together properly and some balls from the bearings were falling out. They secured it back together and said I had to take it to the dealership to get it fixed."

This was actually a lie because I had taken it off myself... and It looked broken to me. So I stopped and re-assembled it.

So, I drove down the road a bit to the dealer and got them to look at it. They said would need a whole new strut assembly and that it wouldnt be here until Wednesday because they have to order it. They also informed me that because someone other than a honda tech took it off, it is not covered under warranty because they cant prove that it was defective and that it didnt get ruined by the person who took it off.

I expected this, so it wasnt that upsetting, though it sucks that I now have to pay for a $200 strut and about $170 in labor for them to put it on, when I can do it myself. But they told me it wouldnt be covered under warranty if I installed it myself. So Im just going to have them do it.

Needless to say, my spring installation is now on hold for a little while until I get this all sorted out.

As it turns out, that dealer was just trying to **** me over. They never even took the wheel off. They just went by what I was telling them and assumed it was busted.

I managed to get a hold of my neighbor today, who is a certified Porsche mechanic and does all of the work on his '84 Porcshe (not sure of the model, but its slant nosed)... and its putting down 500 ponies to the wheels right now... and with more work that hes doing hes going to be pushing 600, as well as an interesting idea he has for his oil pump. Anyways, sorry for the tangent... but the moral of the story is, I trust him more than anyone with cars.

He took a look at my strut and said it was 100% fine. We had all the balls from the bearing anyways, i found them and kept them in a cup. We popped them back in and it was fine. Then we finished putting my springs on. So its all good now. Im canceling my order on the strut fromt he dealer on Monday morning.

Getting my alignment done on Monday as well because there is a BIG difference in the camber now and I wanna get that taken care of. Im going to be getting a camber kit at some point soon as well just because it'd be a good idea. Im also thinking about sways. I just have to go and do the research to figure out what I want.

Look for an update sometime in the next few days with before/after pictures. I want to let the springs settle a bit first.

glad to hear everything getting back on track after that stinky debacle with the dealership/shop people.

im curious how you will find the s-techs, those were my original choice, until i saw the sportlines (still cant decide which to go with heh, hopefully your review will help me decide my future suspension mods , ive heard good things about both)

cant wait for those pics

Pics are being posted momentarily. I love the ride with the S-Techs. Its noticeably stiffer than the stock ride, but its so rigid that its becomes uncomfortable. I can notice quite the difference in my cornering aswell.

Im going to be getting a camber kit in the not to distant future aswell, just because its better to not risk ruining my suspension/ruining my tire life.

**UPDATED ** added pics. Working on some video... maybe this weekend.

I know J. It is crazy how things go and change so fast.

I am still very interested in seeing what the R18 with those mods is putting down.

I am glad you liked the video Chris!

Looks good, but you should really consider removing the mud guards, takes away from the show & shine.

It definitely looks good though, you're doing a great job with all your mods. Wish I had some extra money laying around for some Type-S rims, they look real nice on just about every car I've seen them on.
