North Shore-ish Weekly Meet & Greet

Next Meet
_____________________

Date: October 12, 2008
Time: 7pm (time may be subject to change)
Location: Taco Bell, Rt. 1 South, Saugus
_____________________

Who can attend?
- Anyone with an 8th gen. If you have a friend with another car that wants to show up, thats fine. But we dont need other 'crews' showing up and 'crashing' our meets and potentially causing trouble. As a group, we represent 8thcivic and dont want to reflect badly on the site.

What if Im not from the 'North Shore'?
- To be perfectly honest... I dont even know what towns constitute the 'North Shore' ... but I hear people talk about it all the time. So I made it the "North Shore-ish Weekly Meet & Greet". Take note of the '-ish' in the title. It means North Shore, give or take a few towns.

I took pictures at the last meet, where should I post them?
- You can post them in this thread, or you can make a thread in the Intro/Pics section. Posting in the intro/pics section will help keep this thread more organized and make it easier to find pictures, just be sure ot post the thread link in here.

Rules:
- There are no official rules, but be forewarned... if your actions are offensive to others and/or jeopardize our 'reputation' then you will be asked to leave and not return. We will NOT be 'that' car crowd that is obnoxious and causes trouble for the people around us and attracts cops (though sometimes that is unavoidable). Basically... dont be stupid

Onto the wordy crap:

I've noticed that there seem to be quite a few members from our area and not many have met in person. So, I propose a weekly "Meet & Greet" where members can just hang out and BS with each other for an hour or 2 each week. It will also be a good way for new members to join the group, etc.

Now, myself, darkrom and soxfan143 had a mini-meet last night @ the Stop&Shop in North Reading, but its probably not the best spot for a meet.

So, we need to figure out where to hold this weekly meet. Wherever it is, it should have a nice parking lot with some lighting (if the meets happen when its dark). Maybe have it at a food location so we can get some grub to chow on while sitting around.

We should also try to keep it in a semi-central location for everyone. I feel that somewhere along Rt.1 near the I95 junction may be our best bet, because its an easy spot for those coming from any direction.

We can also try a few different meet days/spots over the next couple weeks until we find something that works really well. Trial and error is the only way to get it right, lol.

I personally would like a Sunday afternoon/night, or Tuesday/Thursday night meet. I do NOT want to have the official meet on wednesdays b/c wednesdays Im either with my fiancee or at the track.

Im going to try and keep the top of this post updated each week with the day, time, location of the next meet.

Discuss...

Well besides simply having Wednesday meets at the track I love this idea.

Allow me to suggest the 1st thing that came to mind when you said route 1.....KELLYS!!!

Good grub, nice variety, goodish location and best of all...pretty much always open haha. I dunno feel free to come up with better ideas though.

Maybe we can make this a sticky if one of the mods would be soooooooooo kind?

oh by the way thank you Phalanx for having the initiative to take the time and do this. Something I wanted to do for a while but I'm so damn lazy!

Kellys isnt a bad idea for grub but prob not the best for pics and stuff like that....the second level of the Square One Mall probably isnt a bad idea to meet....its open and theres tons of room and i think they keep their lights on....we could then just drive over to Kelly's or somethin since its pretty much down the street....

I like the idea of Kelly's ... maybe we shall try that this week. Assuming no one has any objections.

Yea... kellys may no be the best for pics. but i know their lot is pretty decent. Does the Sqaure One lot require payment of any kind? Or is it free? We could use that as a pic spot.

I would prefer to start the meet while its still light enough outside for pics, though. Like 6 or 7pm.

I live about 9 minutes from the Square1 mall. And even closer to Kelly's. But I have to say Kelly's food ahs gone to shitt over the last couple years. And it's super expensive....be ready to dump 20.00 to eat a hotdog...Haha.....I kid I kid. But if you guys think Kellys is the best spot then lets do it. But the cops are brutal there. I used to hang around in Saugus daily. Ex GF is from Saugus. So I just want to warn you the cops ALWAYS broke my balls about my exhaust on my last Honda. So be ready.....

7 PM for me. I have Sunday dinner with the family. Italian family so dinner on Sunday is a big deal.....

Hmm... any other suggestion than Kellys? Ive only eaten @ the one by Liberty Tree Mall... and it wasnt on my dime so i didnt pay attention to the cost, lol.

Also, if cops are almost a guarantee, then i'd like to find a different spot. But... we'll give Kellys a shot this week and see what happens. Trail and Error

As for the time... i think 7pm is probbaly better for most people. I will likely be there early, though... since thats just the way I am. I'll probably show up and do my own lil' photoshoot @ like 6:30. So if some people wanna go early, ill probably be there.

We should meet at the Squire..........Hahahahaha......

The Mall would be the best place for pics but I'm just not sure about the cops and how they will react to us all hanging around there. But I was thinking, as long as we eat at Kellys they really can't do anything about us all being there though. We are paying customers. That would be bad business to throw out paying customers. And if there is alot of us they would never boot us if we are spending money there. So I think Kellys is the best bet.

No offense... and since I cant tell if you're joking or not, I would not advise that. This is not HIN... we need not bring any extra attention that we will already have.

ROFL sounds like the scene right out of Tokyo Drift.

Regardless of how ridiculous that is, I would have no problem dealing with guaranteed cops if you were able to supply turntables, disco balls, and JDM women.
