What a dumb comment. People buy this car for its exclusivity, not because they think it's faster than a regular Si.

Its not so exclusive. Anyone with an FA5 can convert their car into one of this as well. with the money of course.

so...from this thread http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61925 i can get all parts and pricing information. add them up + 1800 for the gp wheels and it is $8721, that includes everyhting, from the mugen badges to the brakes. so, lets say you can get a fiji sedan for 21k + 8721, any one can have this car for less than msrp....except without a limited number.

honda is really screwing people with this. any car that can be bought perice by peice at retail prices and put together for less than they are selling it is rediculous.

Yes but anything you buy and install yourself is not covered by dealer warranty.

Like I said and I'll say it again, all this shit you install yourself won't be covered by dealer warranty. Sure, you can look almost exactly like the Mugen Si, but what you also don't have is the "Limited Edition #"

warrenty? the dealer is going to void my warrenty for an exhaust? for a lip kit? for a short shifter? all items that they sell for their cars. thats like saying you will void your warreny for putting on the HFP kit.

You folks also forgot to take into account the cost to paint these parts. Mugen lip kit + spoiler = have fun. Unless you have a fiji sedan, nothing to worry about I suppose.

Learn how to read. Where did I say it would VOID your warranty? Let's say you got a base Si. Then later down the line you decided to add the HFP kit by yourself. You drive on the highway and your HFP front lip decides to fly off. You think Honda will cover your loss? WRONG. Now if you had your dealer install these parts or it already came with it, Honda would replace it at no charge.

ANYTHING the car came with is covered under bumper to bumper warranty by Honda and the dealer. Anything you decide to put in yourself will not be covered.

from what I understand the car is track tune, and is not for DD becuase the car is reallly stiff. The turn top 10 faster time in japan of whateva track it was.

well if some one doesnt have enough knowldge to know how to install the lip kit or any other parts, they can have the dealer do it and still be under the total cost of the mugen SI.

after the probably 5k dealer markup, the destination fee, taxes (8.5% in suffolk county) this car would cost nearly 39k.

your also paying for the name. for that much you can upgrade a standard fa5 to the level of a Mugen RR. I'd take the 8K and stock fa5 and upgrade the suspension to coilovers, sway bars. Open up the intake, and exhaust from the header all the way back. get lighter 18" rims and tires and stil have $$$ to spare....IMO

IMO I would rather have money to spare rather than spear.

Regardless of our personal opinions about the price of this vehicle, WE will not be charging over MSRP...so no 5K Dealer Markup here....
