games dealer plays

ok, when a salesman gives you the "i have to check with my manager first" line, does he really have to? or is it just a bunch of crock. i mean, they will even go into a room where supposedly their manager is and they will come out saying "this is the best offer my manager will let it go for." is this jsut a game they play.

a couple of days ago my salesman gave me his BEST pricing of $700 under msrp if i bought two cars. EX sedan and SI sedan. i didnt believe him so i started shopping around for a GGM or TW SI sedan and i've got offers of $300 over invoice just for the base price. Im not sure what OTD would be yet. once, i told my salesman that i got better pricing, he told me to bring it in so he could match/beat it. weird aint it. seems like my salesman got caught up in his own games once he knew he was gonna lose me as a customer buying two cars. his qoute to me, "let's keep it local, i want to help you." what do you guys think.

im thinking maybe i can get both cars at $200 over invoice, plus a two car discount on top of that. inputs?

be careful they might say theyll give you a good price but then in the end add rediculous extras and what not.

Yea dealers have ways of playing their tricky games. Before you know it, you will end up with 2 ex's, instead of one of them being the si.

When working with a negotiating dealer, the Salesperson really has the worst job of all. Not only does he have to negotiate with you, but he also has to negotiate with thye Sales Manager. The dealership keeps this person in the dark when it comes to rate / payment / financing....everything.....thats why when you ask questions about the rate you are getting or what your lowest payment can be...you get that look of "What the heck....I cant understand a word this guy is saying...and Im scared to admit it" from your salesperson.

I am fortunate enough to work at a dealership where the Salesperson is in control of everything in relation to the purchase all the way up to the time you "sign and Drive". On top of that, we actually can give you are best price up front because usually it will be better than what most dealers will negotiate down to.

So when working a negotiating store....the salesperson has to go back and forth between you and them to find the happy medium that will suit you as the customer and keep the manager happy to secure his job!

Thats why the old ways of doing buisness are slowly becoming extinct....and thats why If I didnt work here, I would not sell cars!

So when it comes to everything I offer here as advice, its most beneficial for someone looking to purchase as a lot of people on here have seen and who I have helped. If you are having an issue with a dealership, let me know. Ill tell you what to say and look at the deal to make sure everything is on the "up and up"!!

Q1: how plentiful are SI sedans in GGM & TW w/o navi?
Q2: are they as hot of selling as dealers claim?
Q3: is invoice to $500 over invoice a good deal?
Q4: what kind of a discount should i expect from buying 2 cars at once?
Q5: or should i make seperate purchases for best deal?

a1: No - They arent and there are more of them now.
a2: Yes
a3: Doesnt really matter if you get 10 cars...there is only so low a dealer will go....and there is only about 1000 dollars back from invoice to go before you get into the actual cost of the vehicle.
a4: Shouldnt matter either way....
