I negotiated down to $19.6 incl destination for an 08 EX-L (no nav), and after a few accessories (all-season floor mats, trunk tray, splash guards, remote starter, day/night mirror) I was at about $21.8 (7% NJ tax). I thought it was a good deal but I had to go back and complain about the bogus "VEK" accessory charge to get the remote starter.

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if you guys can help out with a Honda Civic LX 4dr sedan automatic I'm planning to buy. So far, I've a dealer offered me the car at $18,000 out the door. The car is not custom configured and has the basic features of its trim. This price includes the tax (Calif 7.75%), reg fees, and destination fee. Please let me know if I'm missing other vital info. Thanks! |

(You guys may laugh at this...but now that the Civic is the Number one Vehicle sold in the US right now...dont expect too much in the way of discounts and be happy if your dealership has them to sell after June is over...)

Hello, I'm about to buy a Civic LX Coupe AT for $16,963 incl destination + ttl. The OTD is roughly $18K++ for the 8.25% CA tax and such. Is this a good deal? I'm hoping I could get it around $16,200 to get to $17K++ OTD. Most guys are saying the price trend for civics may go along with the rising fuel cost, hitting near MSRP. But I seen guys in edmund's getting civic coupe LX AT for $17,500 OTD.
I'm also trading in our pathy and it's my first time to do that. Basing from KBB the good to excellent value was $9K to $11K, considering my 04 pathfinder is in excellent condition and with low mileage to boot. Is it possible to get $11K trade in value? Btw how does trade in work? Yup, I know that they are going to pay for the pathy and if there's still residue I can use it for downpayment. But how about the process on paying and clearing me up from the bank and DMV? The bank that I used to have is in east coast and I still owe them around $7K. Should I call them about the pending sale or let the dealership do it for me? |

dealer is asking for 24.5k for an 06 civic si. I argued with them but they haven't really presented any numbers. I am going to try to come at them with KBB stuff and other dealership prices. One has an si going for 18.5k, going to try to knock it as low as possible with such information. I dont want to pay more than a new or even at the same price. 1 or 2k off is fine by me as I recently had an accident in my mazda3 and i want something with more umpf.

I heard the 2.9% APR sale will end on July 7th. I really want to buy a civic si, but my current VW lease ends in middle of August.
Should I bite the bullet and go ahead and get the car before July 7th? Or is it possible another APR sale might be available during August? |

No one knows what offers they will have. I'm going to guess it will be 4.9% like it was last year when the new models came out. I hope the hell I'm wrong because I'm in the same boat as you. My credit score is excellent, I don't know if I can bring myself to pay more than 2.9%, it might be the thing that holds me back from buying a new SI. If you bought now, I think you'd have a tough time even finding an SI on a lot. I'm going to wait, especially with the new colors and changes for '09 coming. The suspense of the changes and interest offers is killing me, lol, I don't think there's any way in hell they'll have 2.9% for the '09's though.

I just bargained a 2008 NWBP Civic Coupe SI for invoice (20,092) with a 2.9% APR over 60 months. Is that pretty good? |
