What the hell does 8 Mile have to do with Lil' Wayne?

8 Mile is the road in Detroit that seperates the rich from the poor, the city and the 'burbs, the black and the white.

Lil' Wayne is from the N.O.

its was a comment towards the quote that i had previously quoted, how all rappers can flow off the top of there head, thus the story of eminem and the 8th mile, debby downer

How am I a downer? I didn't understand your analogy. You explained it so now I understand what you were trying to say.

As far as Wayne being the best? At the moment I'll agree. Everything he's putting out now sounds good to me, but I was listening to wayne when he was in the Hot Boyz, so i've seen his progression.

Compared to new Jay-Z, i'll say Wayne has it. If it's Old Jay-Z i'd have to say Jay got it. But you can't really compare the old and new like that.

Hey man no harm no foul, its just a friendly rap arguement.
none the less i got into a deep discussion with a rap fanatic about this, he explained to me that they are both insanely good rappers but on different levels, and if they so happened to come together in a "battle" jay-z would rip out some gansta shit and rip lil wayne a new one, but it would be straight g-flow, where lil wayne would rip jay-z a new one but it wouldnt be as horrible of "dissin" but it would be flowing and a lot more rythmic and more enjoying to listen to, sorry if its kinda incoherent or hard to understand, you can only imagine why, look at the time and amongst other reasons

I see Jay Z as a more professional rapper.

But Lil wayne makes the best monthly hits.

I am not trying to play the age card, but if you noticed most of you guys saying lil wayne>Jay-z are the younger crowd. This makes sense because lil wayne has had more hits during your lifetime (at least when you started listening to the music). That being said I slightly can somewhat agree, BUT if you look at all Jay-z's music as a whole it isn't close guys.

Go listen to Reasonable Doubt (his best imo) and the original Blueprint.

Then come back at tell me I am wrong.

its a bad comparison. they both have different syles. granted weezy is amazing. JayZ is a hip hop mogul (sp?) he can outright buy weezys life. and hes an amazing rapper and always will be.

comparing weezy to jay is like comparing jordan to lebron. lebron MAY be better than jordan was in sometime. but Jordan will always be Jordan.
