Any Classical Music Lovers on Here?

I'm just curious if I am the only nerd that cruises the internet listening to Mozart and Beethoven.

And if you are, what do you have on your playlists?

I totally forgot about Pandora! I have Mozart and Beethoven.

What really amazes me is that this thread has been up for 9 hours and only 1 person has admitted to liking classical music. It's okay, kiddos. No one will think you're a dork for liking it.

Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for the mother-cluckin' win!

I have a whole CD devoted to Classical (though I'm terrible with the titles) in my car.

Thank you both, e60.deluxe and Izzy. It's nice to see what others are listening too. I loved classical as a teenager and recently just started going crazy on the downloads again.

I'll also admit that Opera is growing on me more and more and more.

Pfft, there's nothing amazing about me listening to classical, really. I got the inclination from here: Nodame Cantabile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But, hey, whatever encultures me.

Canon in D by Pachelbel. The oddity in his work, since he's mostly known for church-type music.

Would you guys also consider some of Nobuo Uematsu's music as "classical"?

I have almost every major classical composer, but I am partial to Beethoven (especially his 6th Symphony - Pastoral).

Vienna Philharmonic

I like what they did with the Strauss boys in their new years 05 concert. Lorin Maazel is a creepy little dude too. Check out the DVD

Absolutely not. I've played the piano since the age of five and classical is still my favorite genre of music. As for time period, I actually prefer the romantic and contemporary periods. Some favorites include Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Chopin, and Liszt.

So no, you're most certainly not alone: :

Although I wasn't familiar with "Nas" (sorry, out of touch), I just sampled it in iTunes. The piece in the background is Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. It was by far his most famous work.

I played the french horn for over a decade, so I am very big into orchestral arrangements and classical music.

I was a band nerd in high school and have a soft spot for classical music as well. I'd say one of my favorite compositions is "The Planets" from Gustav Holst. Anyone here seen the movie Amadeus? Excellent movie if you're a fan of Mozart!

Classical music is great! Carl Orff, Beethoven, One of my favorites is Igor Stravinsky.

I've also recently been trying to find music that I would consider of the genre "neo classical". I'm not sure if that's a real genre or not (kind of an oxymoron I guess), but it's kind of like an edgy type of classical music infused with opera and a little bit of a techno-ish influence I guess.

If you guys would be interested, check out Emma Shapplin - Spente Le Stelle, there are a few different versions of the song that I know of.

I've been on a fairly mad Movie Score kick lately, does some of John Williams' stuff count?
