Official "I am Legend" Thread (Warning: Spoilers inside!)

''My name is Robert Neville. I am a survivor living in New York. If there is anybody out there...anybody. Please. You are not alone."

"Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there.

But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague-The Infected-lurk in the shadows...watching Neville's every move...waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered...and quickly running out of time. (Taken from movieweb.com)"

Anyone else interested in seeing this one? Will Smith isn't my favorite actor by any means, but he isn't terrible either. Im sure if it's anything like the book (which is great btw) then this movie is going to be a hit.

I enjoy Will Smith's work... after all, he's a Philly boy. The movie seemed really interesting, then... they had to add mutants that are trying to kill him. Now I'm not as interested. Probably wait for the DVD.

Looks like a great movie, only one more week! I heard the book was amazing as you said, and I just hope they do it justice. I actually think Will Smith is a great actor....honestly one of the best in my eyes.

find me a lambo(or four), a couple or ten ferraris, astons, you name it i would find them..and drive the wheels off of them...you don't have to worry about paying for gas...why not find the least fuel efficient things you can and drive the heck out of them

OMFG! Rep to Jocasti for starting a thread about my most recent movie obsession. I just finished reading the original story adapted to graphic novel By IDW publishing on Tuesday. I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie.

10 hour drive. Wow.
Holy crap. I just realized that that means Alamogordo is like 15 hours away. Sh*T. That's one hell of a drive.

Thnx for the points .
I read the book back in high school and it's definitely one of my favorites. I was going through a little bit of a sci-fi phase and I read it right after Fahrenheit 451,another GREAT book btw! Im sure the movie is going to be a hit, but I really hope they don't make it like all the resident evil movies that have already come out.

I'll give you a hint, it's not mutants like what you're thinking. Those of us who've read the book know what they are.

If you really want to know, wikia I am Legend and it'll give you a run down of the story. I think they used "mutant disease" because what else would you call what happens to people in this story without giving it away?

I haven't read that since Jr Highschool. God, I loved that story. Time for me to read it again.
