bro can state his opinion though ... just be like "i disagree, and this is why..." i didn't think the movie was great; it was good but not great. rescuing the girl was good and so was the statue of liberty head part and the initial chaos before that... other than that it was just alright

If you watch the news bulliten at the beginning of the movie you can see "giants beat new england" scroll across the bottom of the screen

Huh?!?! I can't wait for the DVD mostly for the extras and catch all the stuff going on in the periphery such as something landing in the water in the background during the last clip of them in Coney Island and deleted stuff.

If you watch the newscast at the beginning of the movie the female african american news anchor is interviewing the woman who "cured cancer". During the interview you can clearly see "giants beat new england" scoll across the bottom of the screen. The movie was filmed long before the superbowl! Pretty neat.

This is the CLOVERFIELD thread. I think you've mistaken this for the I AM LEGEND thread.

<Peter Griffin> You know what grinds my gears?

I hate it when people compare this Cloverfield to Blair Witch because no matter what you think of Cloverfield, it's light years ahead in every aspect. Blair Witch was boring, long, and a complete waste of time -it also had the lamest ending I've ever seen! I suppose the only thing that sucked more than Blair Witch was its sequel?

Agreed. Just because it was filmed similarly, doesn't mean it's the same movie. Or can even be compared. If anything, you can say Cloverfield was 10 times better than Blair Witch...but there is no other comparison.

George A. Romero is coming out with a new zombie movie that will be filmed primarily with hand held cameras. The guy is a genious, but I think this way of filming is already becoming too overdone. There's a Spanish film called REC that I just saw recently. It's all handheld. And now there's an American version coming out called Quarantine that is probably frame by frame the exact same movie.

JJ Abrams even said in a recent interview that if there is a sequel, they probably won't go handheld, since handheld camera work is getting overplayed.

The George A Romero movie is already out and bombed, you're right the concept is overdone.
