Yah, its all about their bit*hes and h*es now. The music that they make now is more for the clubs i feel with huge base lines, but they mean very little.

i guess i should at least say what my favorite music is i d have to go with the newer heavier metal. Not to forget pantera though. But I think the amount of talent that it takes to play in the majority of these bands is uncompareble. Don't tell me the music is garbage and anyone could play that crap..... because if you say that, you apparently havent tried to play it before, hehe.

I'm gonna chime in - my opinion on a few things..
I've gotta say that I love hearing pantera, until phil anselmo starts singing. I think that it shows great loyalty that the rest of the band kept his talentless ass around just to be the reason that one of the greatest guitarists of all time got killed. pity.
And I don't know where you're from dsm, but xo already hit down in the south. Man is straight getting paid.

I'll definately do that. If he's trying to get the whole underground rep then he's doing the right thing. H-town has been blowing up hard for a while now, and dallas is doing the same thing. Everyone that really loves hip hop around here has nothing but underground and chopped&screwed bumping all day long.

i'm going to say the 1800's. If your into true geniuses creating a piece LONG before sound equipment and computers with music programs.

I do like music now but any of those decades (except perhaps the 60's and early 70's), lacks the talent that it once took to be something amazing.

In today's era, I think Mike Shinoda is probably the closest thing to a bach, or mahler.

I think that bands such as Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are extremely talented. If any of you have never heard them and like jazz (even just a little) you should check out the dvd.

People confuse wether or not a band has talent, by wether or not the music they create is "good". I have heard many musicians come through our studio that have incredible talent, but lack the abitlity to create good music on their own. And then i ve heard musicians with no talent create music everybody loves. Take Nirvana and the Deftones for example. I love their music, but with the exception of David Groole, none of them have talent, they can play well, but they have no talent. That is why most begginers choose stuff like this to cover when they are starting to learn, because it is simple music. You can't just jump in trying to play Dreamtheater kind of stuff, you gotta start with the "easy". And don't even get me started on the 3 chord wonder of country music... booo.. lol. I'm not trying to ruffle anyones feathers, I like all music. I own over 4,000 cds from all different genres, but i just don't like it when people assume that good music = talent. That's the closed minded way to look at it.

Gonna have to go with the 70's. Just about all rock and roll from the 60's on is allright by me though. 80's rock kinda went downhill a bit. Mostly continued that way since.
