Wisconsin Si Owners

Have any of the Wisconsin Si owners taken their Si in to get the transmission fixed? I'm taking mine in tomorrow to Zimbrick Honda in Madison. Hopefully they don't give me a run-around. I wish the TSB would have came out earlier. Now that it's warm out, third doesn't pop out, it is just really notchy.

Anyone have any success?

Just got back from Zimbrick. I started talking to the Service Manager Tom Strahota months ago about the problem. Right when I pulled out of my parking garage it refused to engage 3rd, so I got pretty excited. Drove down Zimbrick, felt kinda notchy. Tom drove my car with me in it and never popped out. Sad. It didn't even feel notchy, what the hell. When I drove it back it felt great, but it usually does when the car warms up.

Tom was really nice about it, said to try and schedule something when it gets cooler out or come back if it gets worse. A bit frustrated, but mine isn't as bad as other peoples 3rd gear.

Honda 1, me 0.

Also, try driving up and down fish hatchery road.....that bumps every 3 feet that go "dup dup dup dup dup" will sure pop it out.....

i swear to god my car gets more rattlier when i drive to work on fish hatch.

Everytime I hit a rattle, a baby in Zimbabwe cries because he or she knows that in 100 miles, my car will be feeling that bump in the form or rattles.

Tom suggested that once it gets colder to leave it there overnight on a lift and then drive it the next morning to see. He was real nice about everything, but IDK. Like he said, "Why would I want to tear your transmission apart if there is nothing wrong?" I said, "Exactly, why would I want you to? THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG!"

I'm just afraid the 3rd gear is going to cause me to get into an accident. Not good when you can't accelerate.

You should try the Zimbrick at grand canyon.....

When i got my 90k service done for my old accord at the fish hatch one, they screwed up the transmission....found contamination in the fluid a month later....and the A/T used to slip and down shift at 70mph...thank god I had warranty for the trans till 107k

I'll probably get the same result from Grand Canyon and I know Tom from Fish Hatch will take care of me. He told me to email/call him directly if I need to. My transmission isn't bad, but the flaw is very noticable. It usually only pops out once, maybe twice per trip, and I expect it when the car is cold. I've only got 7,000 miles on and I've had the car for a year, so I don't have to worry about running out of warranty for some time.
