Columbus Autocross Event

Its time for everyone in C-bus whose ever vtec'd to put your money where your mouth is.

On 08/26 & 09/02 SCCA is having an event @ cooper stadium. For non SCCA members its like only $35 to race for the day. All you need to bring is Tape for your numbers and a Snell approved helmet. If you don't have one they some you can borrow. There are a lot of different cars there from Vettes to Karts. Each car its pitted in a class with other like cars so everything is fair. A stock Si runs in the GS class. If you have any questions about what class you should run just let me know what your car is and what mods you have done if any. Mazda3s, Honda S2k's & Vettes are always in force, i think we need a good representation if FG's and FA's.

This is funny. MSSCCA is hosting an autocross that same weekend in Columbus, MS (the reason I clicked on this thread). Cool.

The stage is getting set. There will be one other NBP FA5 running in my class again. In addition to a Mini cooper S, and a VW GLI. That weather for sunday should be sunny so should be good track conditions.

I did great my first run, but i went the wrong way down the slalom, so it was a DNF. After that i sucked arse. I got 4th out of 5 by a good margin. I would have gotten 3rd but i hit a cone which added a second.

1st Run

2nd Run

There's another even next weekend.

What time did this start? I got there around noon and I could tell I already missed some stuff, as all I saw were some highly tuned STis, some old BMW 3s, a pair of last gen blue Si's and a clean RSX Type-S... Glad you had fun- I think I parked next to you- you have a car seat in the back?

Edit: What would a good time be for that course in a stock Si? ~57?

The racing started @ 0945 by the time you got there it was during the second heat so i was out working on the track. I raced in the first heat. Yea i did race with my kids car seats in the back, the racing grocery getter.

As far as time i ended with a 56.3+1 for hitting a cone. My first run i ran a 54.9 but i went the wrong way down the slaom, so i DNF that run. But with that course i could see a stock si doing between 52 and 53 with the right setup and a good driver. I still have issues taking sharp corners, but i'm getting better.
