College Park Honda ...

Marylanders in the College Park area.
(I hope i'm not breaking any rules by posting a borderline advertisement lol)

Hey guys. I promised the youngster that sold me my car from CP Honda that I'd throw his name out on some forum when I got onto one.

Paul Pagliaro. 22 y/o youngbuck. Good honest kid.

*Before Test Drive*
Paul: "What do you know about this car? *pop open hood*"
Me: "K20Z3 motor. I'm so glad Honda finally built something that looks better than the EP3 piece of trash. *looks under hood*. It looks like it'll be a pain to change the plugs. Half the motor looks like it's under the firewall... like a V8 chevy. Are they hard to change?"
Paul: "I'll be honest with you, you obviously know more about the car than I do."
Me: "Thanks for being honest. You have no idea how many shady dealers would have just made something up. Let's drive."

So yeah. He's an internet sales guy who is nice and young and untainted by years of stealership trash banter.

Bought a base FA5 Si for $20006 (22k OTD).
Sport Honda has an internet sales guy who was just as nice (Julius Something) who was willing to give the car up for $20,250.

Just thought I'd try to help someone who may be looking for a deal out.

I bought my car from them back in 06. They had a $5k mark up but talked them out of it. This was when the si first came out so they were hard to come by.

I took my car there also when my alternator went bad. Gave me no trouble at all.

TW? If that's a color, I don't know it. They only had two Sis. One coupe (NBP) and one sedan (NBP). I bought from them but they traded the coupe to another dealer to get the Si I wanted.

They've got a used red one also.

I think Ourisman Honda in Laural sucks. I bought my Si from them and they wouldn't even honor the free first oil change coupon that was given to me when I originally purchased the car. I later received a letter from their new Service Manager asking for my opinion on their stellar service performance and then sent a letter in response (see below quote) to include evidence to qualify my experience. To this day, I have yet to receive a response from them.

Quote:
MY NAME AND ADDRESS

05 September 2006

Ourisman Honda of Laurel
3371 Fort Meade Rd
Laurel, MD 20724

SERVICE MANAGER NAME:

This letter is in response to the letter that you had sent to me (copy enclosed) dated 11 August 2006 regarding service that was recently performed on my 2006 Honda Civic Si. The letter indicated that you sincerely hope that I was completely satisfied with the service performed and to contact you if for any reason the service failed to exceed my expectations. It is for that reason, I would like to make you aware that I was not satisfied with the service that was performed at your dealership.

I purchased the 2006 Honda Civic Si from your dealership on 07 January 2006. As part of the purchase, I added a few options to include an extra set of 17” HFP rims. When completing the paperwork during purchase, I was informed and provided with a service coupon booklet that indicated that my 1st oil change was free (copy enclosed).

My first routinely scheduled appointment (the one referenced in this letter) was performed on 10 August 2006. Upon arrival at the Ourisman Honda of Laurel dealership, I mentioned to the service technician that I was bringing my car in for the 1st free oil change service. He acknowledged and upon entering the details into the computer, another service technician indicated that in order to get the 1st free oil change, I would have to pay $25.00 to have the tires rotated as well. I mentioned to this technician that I did not need the tires to be rotated as I had purchased an extra set of rims from the dealership and had already performed the tire rotation on my own. At that point, the other service technician said that in order to qualify for the 1st free oil change, I would have to pay for the tire rotation. If I did not pay for the tire rotation, then the oil change would not be free and I would have to pay the normal fee in the amount of approximately $31.00. I responded by saying that this stipulation was not mentioned to me verbally or in the paperwork when I purchased the vehicle. The service technician then responded by saying, that is the way the 1st free oil change program works since the tire rotation comes as part of the service package.

At that point, I was disappointed that the service department would not honor, or even try to honor the 1st free oil change that was marketed and sold to me as stated when I purchased the vehicle. In the end, I ultimately paid for the 1st free oil change out of my own pocket (copy enclosed) in order to ensure that the regularly scheduled maintenance on my vehicle was performed on time and as recommended by Honda.

To conclude, I was disappointed with my first service appointment and rather surprised at the fact that the service technicians did not make me feel like a customer where my business would be appreciated. Since you are the new Service Manager at Ourisman Honda of Laurel, I hope that something can be done to rectify this experience at your dealership.

Sincerely,

MY NAME

I agree, I think Ourisman sucks, too. I was there for over 8 hours before the deal was over and done. They kept me in the dark during the whole entire deal and then bribed me with a free tank of gas to give them all fives on their service ratings. (of course with gas prices the way they are I couldn't say no)
