What to do in Hampton/Norfolk area?

I'm coming to Fort Monroe for a business trip next week, 5th-11th, and I'm wondering if there is anything I should try to do or see while I am out there? We fly into Norfolk and are staying at Hampton Marina Hotel. Any good eats or bars to check out in the area?

Granby Street at Night: Gauds, Baxters, Scooties.....just average bars.
Shop at Commonwealth and get some BBC, 10 Deep, Ice Cream.
Oceanfront...

VA beach is just up 64 if you want to do that; I'd recommend going early to avoid the usual tunnel traffic. Of if you're adventurous, there are some other beach areas that aren't as commercialized or popular. Great spot to take someone special and just chill.
