Some saturday G-teching, 0-60 in 6.6 seconds, VIDEO!!

Yesterday, I went out with a friend of mine and did a few G-tech runs to see what my cars 0-60 times were. I have a 2007 SI Sedan, and my car is 100% stock, minus the pnp HID's. At first, I left the VSA on, thinking the wheel spin would make the car slower. My first run with the VSA on I got a 7.1, the next ones, i kept getting 7.4 or so. I decided to try it with the VSA off, and on the first run, got 6.6 seconds. I didn't get a second run with the VSA off because someone from the neighboring houses came out to quiet us down, so we left. I think if I had some more time to dial in the launch, i might have gotten it a little bit lower. by the way, I launched it at around 5K rpm in the video.

I was quite surprised that the times were that low.

I think with some better tires should bring the times down some.

any plans on ur perfomance parts?

none right now, I am trying to finish rebuilding my older pontiac engine. I need to order some pistons, and i have a new cylinder head to install, since I destroyed the old one. Bad piston meeting valve experience.... long story. Anyways, I just need to take a few measurements of my cylinder bores on that car, and then its a call into wiseco for some forged pistons. Since I am concentrating on that car in the next few months, no performance mods for the new SI yet. I have to had the pontiac ready for safety inspection before the end of june. (my sticker expires) and as the car sits right now, only the block is in the car ( no cylinder head), and only two pistons are in it, out of 4. haha. Talk about a long way to go....

I usually launch around 5, but I've heard that you should really launch at 3, anyone know what's the best to launch at?
