I don't think rims will ever break from being over-stressed due to power, the car will break the tires loose long before that. Like you said earlier there are plenty of high-power subies/evos that run xxr wheels.

The problem lies in bad roads/driver error and the car hits something it shouldn't, which in most cases even a forged $500 rim may still bend/break. Go ahead and google image "bent volks"

Yeah It seems legit rims bend though rather than snap. But it also seems its often driver or install error. I'm kinda accepting it more though, I think it will be fine. I am pretty careful about potholes and stuff so not to worried about that.

maybe not so likely our cars but my cousin had a 700whp 300zx that cracked the spokes on his stock wheels. not sure if it was strictly from power or whatever the case, they were hairline cracks that spread over time where he eventually needed to replace them before it got worse.

inevitably no wheel no matter the cost is safe from potholes. the AWD community runs knock off wheels heavily, same with the older import crowd.. seems fine to them
