Wowzers! $397 for new Headlight Housings! OUCH! It's gonna be so worth it with projectors though

Who on here knows why the EP3's motor makes so much less power stock? Is it because of the compression? The cam? Or both? Does it suck to boost? I'm just curious.

The head flow, the cam and the compression. That's why the VTEC engagement point is 2500 RPM's on the car. The sad part is I could (before boost) beat the EP3 with manu-shifting in my R18. That has to be VERY depressing for an EP3 owner.

Ok sounds like not even simple mods would fix the k20a3 maybe a head swap would help, but still low compression. Wonder if a k20a3 with swapped z3 head would be good for boost, being its low compression.

Any reason you ask? Pretty sure they handle boost well...the head is defiantly the big flaw

Just curious, a guy at work was talking to me about them and is thinking about getting them. I knew the motor stock made significantly less power, just wasn't sure how they were once boosted.

I have a k20a block...but i have an a2 from a type s rsx...id guess the block is pretty similar and the head is the big factor other than slightly different compression. They will never make the same power as a z3. 300hp is good for them, they have weak rods that snap around 330hp...and the rod bolts suck.
