well it's certainly nice to have someone on 8th that knows a thing or two about engineering. I feel like I have a lot to learn and sound knowledge is just not on 8th.

I own Chassis Design: Principles and Analysis and Race Car Vehicle Dynamics both by Milliken and Milliken :). I never got to take Vehicle Dynamics when I was in college so I taught it to myself ;). When I started autocrossing I decided that I really wanted to learn about suspension and tires as my previous interest was generally on powertrain topics.

wow that is strange. You usually never see mechanical take a liking to software stuff. I did my undergrad in mechanical as well. in retrospect I really wish I studied harder.

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. ~sigh~

Have you read race car engineering by miliken & miliken (I think) or Motor Vehicle Dynamics by Giancarlo Genta (that one is very dry but has some awesome formulas). I haven't cracked open either of those books in a long time. You've inspired me!

I majored in mechanical engineering with a concentration in heat transfer and thermodynamics. However all of my automotive/vehicle dynamics knowledge is purely out of interest :). But yet I turned out to be a software guy ;).

it's been so long since I've heard roll couples mentioned (since my university Vehicle Dynamics class). May I ask what you do for a living? I can't imagine a software engineer knows so much about vehicle dynamcis purely based on interest (the subject matter can be pretty dry! atleast for me). lol.

Its refreshing to read posts that are actually educational for a change. I feel like my wasting time at work is at least improving some aspect of my knowledge. lol.
